PNS RAH NAWARD CONDUCTS JOINT SAILING WITH ITALIAN NAVY SHIP AMERIGO VESPUCCI Pakistan Navy Sail Training Ship RAH NAWARD successfully conducted joint sailing operations with Italian Navy Sail Ship AMERIGO VESPUCCI in the Gulf of Oman. The exercise was part of RAH NAWARD’s overseas deployment to Oman, aimed at fostering goodwill and providing practical training to cadets from Pakistan Naval Academy. This collaborative exercise with Italian Navy Sail Ship AMERIGO VESPUCCI offered valuable opportunities for cadets to enhance their skills in joint sailing operations. While International Tall Ship Regattas are more common, such coordinated maneuvers between Tall Ships are rarely witnessed. The planning and execution of this exercise, conducted while both ships were on their respective national tasking; exemplifies the high level of coordination and professionalism shared between the two navies. The joint sailing operations not only provided a unique learning platform for cadets but also showcased the distinct sailing techniques of two iconic Tall Ships from different regions. This interaction underscores the enduring collaboration and growing interoperability between the Pakistan Navy and global naval forces.

The First Training Squadron of the Indian Navy, including INS Tir, ICGS Veera, and INS Shardul, has undertaken significant visits to Bahrain and the UAE. These visits aim to foster greater naval cooperation, improve interoperability, and exchange best practices with the Royal Bahrain Naval Forces and the UAE Navy. During the stay, naval personnel will engage in joint training sessions, professional interactions, and social and cultural events, such as band performances and community outreach programs. One of the key highlights is the coordination meeting to plan a Maritime Partnership Exercise, reaffirming Bharat’s role in maintaining maritime security in the Persian Gulf. The 1TS’s deployment strengthens Bharat’s strategic defence relationships with Bahrain and the UAE, while also exposing the Indian Navy’s sea trainees to valuable international training opportunities. Aligned with the Government’s efforts to enhance Bharat’s global stature and defence capabilities, these interactions underscore the government’s commitment to building strong international partnerships and maintaining regional security. The US-flagged tankers MT Shenandoah Trader of U.S. Marine Management (USMMI) just completed pier side training & qualifications with Royal Fleet Auxiliary Tidespring. She then conducted a Consolidation Operation (CONSOL) training at sea with a Military Sealift Command T-AKE, I believe USNS Robert E Peary. This allows US commercial tankers under charter to the United States Department of Defense to not only transport fuel to depots ashore, but directly to MSC replenishment ships at sea. As recently demonstrated by Overseas Mykonsos and Stena Polaris, these CONSOL tankers can also provide fuel to aircraft carriers if needed.

On September 6, 2024, the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia laid the keel for the future Avante 1800-class patrol vessel for the Moroccan Royal Navy. This 87-meter long and 13-meter wide ship will be able to accommodate a crew of 60. The construction is taking place at the San Fernando shipyard in Spain and is expected to span over three years, creating around 1,100 direct and indirect jobs, with more than one million work hours involved. The agreement between Morocco and Navantia includes not only the construction of the ship but also a comprehensive technical and logistical support package, including spare parts, tools, and specialized training for Moroccan naval personnel in Spain. This patrol vessel is part of Morocco's strategy to modernize its naval capabilities and strengthen the security of its territorial waters and strategic maritime routes. 🛳️⚓ The ship is designed for extended periods at sea while minimizing operational and maintenance costs, making it ideal for the Moroccan Royal Navy's surveillance and protection missions.
