Add these broad jump variations into your training program ⚽️🔥 Broad jumps are a great exercise to improve horizontal force production & propulsion - Band variations are great as they increase force production & also reduces eccentric landing forces.Can be beneficial to reduce some load while returning in lateish rehab phase - scoops are great for power. Something this is massive for an effective accel - repeats are good for improving ground impulses & ratio of force - depth jumps brosds are great for improving ability to absorb and redirect landing forces in a horizontal plane. Also improves ankle stifness which is key for an effective accel - redirectional broad jumps/ plyos is something every footballer must focus on Using loaded & unload plyos allows us to touch on different qualities, someone that is force deficient will really benefit from more loaded broads/ plyos, while someone that lacks elasticity & reactivity will benefit more from unloaded broads/ plyos focusing on quick ground reaction times Keep reps low & rest fairly high as we want to perform these with 100% intensity otherwise we no longer training our speed & power qualities but instead more capacity work but that's for a different post #acceleration #footballtraining #football

I am a big fan of introducing early vertical/horizontal running drills and tempo runs with „relatively“ higher speed <70%MSS in intermittent fashion than long slow jogs.

Are you being too “safe” with your light implementation power options? The goal of any throw or plyometric option is express force in a short amount of time. If we don’t attack our throws or plyos and play it safe, do we ever get a chance to express these forces? Don’t be fooled by perfect postures and positions. It’s okay to miss a rep here and there provided the intent of the movement is there (and it’s safe of course) What’s your thoughts?
