Some good advice from Dave Wakeman in his latest newsletter on the value of labeling. He answers a question about offering discounts as a reward for loyal patrons and espouses the value not calling it a discount. I couldn't agree more and that is very close to a user story we defined when designing UpStageCRM's benefit structure. Something like an automatic purchase discount is type of Benefit Product, not a discount.

The other day, I talked about how quality of work often suffers when quantity of work is prioritized over quality of work. I made this mistake when we launched DD2C (Decoding D2C), a weekly case study series on D2C eCommerce brands. I was so focused on just creating them, that I forget to figure out 'What People Want' and instead ended up being too focused on just increasing the numbers, creating 23 episodes in a month. Which resulted in an embarrassingly, extremely low response than I anticipated. Learning from experience I'm re-launching DD2C this Friday (I’ll put the link in the comments below), with a renewed focus on quality and audience value. Interesting data regarding buyer perception Vs supplier reality for hashtag #b2bpayments . This study shows that more suppliers are willing to accept hashtag #virtualcards if mandated from the buyers. In other words, buyers and their companies have more power to drive payment security, easy reconciliation for both themselves and their suppliers, real-time data regarding payment status, and payment visibility and control. Virtual cards are truly a hashtag #winwin as studies also show that virtual cards enhance supplier relationships.
