E.l.f. Cosmetics Takes the Lead: Empowering Women at the Indy 500 E.l.f. Cosmetics' decision to host a branded experience at the Indianapolis 500, focusing on championing women race car drivers and expanding their partnership with Katherine Legge, can be attributed to several strategic marketing goals. This partnership helps differentiate E.l.f. Cosmetics from other beauty brands. Aligning with a high-energy, prestigious event like the Indianapolis 500 and emphasizing support for women in this arena presents the brand as bold, inclusive, and supportive of breaking barriers, which can enhance brand perception and loyalty. Promoting women race car drivers aligns with empowerment and breaking gender stereotypes, which resonates well with contemporary consumer values, especially among younger demographics who prioritize social responsibility in the brands they support. Gender should make no difference when you’re passionate about your sport (or anything, really). What’s crazy is the choice of words that are applied only to women. Well, this ‘dramatic’, ‘hysterical’ and always competitive lover of sports thinks this is a brilliant ad by Nike. With thanks, too, to the trailblazing ladies who left it all out there in pursuit of a win. #equality #wordstoliveby #sportsforall #languagematters #contentcreation https://lnkd.in/eFDApMP2?

"Hey Barbie! You can't be what you can't see." This most recent release of 'role models' by Barbie is incredible. As part of the brand's continued celebration of Barbie's 65th anniversary, a total of nine international female athletes were honoured with a doll in their image including Matildas star, Mary Fowler, tennis player Venus Williams, French boxer Estelle Mossely, Canadian goalscorer Christine Sinclair, and Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda. What is so great about Mattel, Inc. is that their contribution goes beyond creating dolls that empower and encourage young girls to pursue their dreams in sports. It goes beyond consumer-facing initiatives and it shows their true commitment to their mission. As part of this new release, Barbie confirmed they are extending their partnership with VOICEINSPORT, a global digital platform that connects and inspires girls and women in sports through mentorship, educational content, and expert services, to help support and empower the next generation of women leaders in sports to thrive. In a world where every brand is trying to define its impact, and with so much virtue signaling coming from every corner, it's fantastic to see big players like Mattel finding ways to contribute to social issues in a positive way. The full media release goes into details about the partnership with VOICEINSPORT, its impact and vision. #womeninsports #genderequality #barbierolemodels #barbie #marketing #partnerships #branding

One day we won’t need this day #IWD2024 But how far away is that ‘one day’? According to the World Economic Forum, if progress towards gender parity proceeds at the same average speed observed between 2006 and 2023, the overall global gender gap will not close for another 131 years. Accelerating progress towards gender parity will not only improve outcomes for women and girls but benefit economies and societies more broadly; reviving growth, boosting innovation and increasing resilience. It has never been more urgent for us to shift from the idea that action on gender equity is a ‘choice’, and instead, make it our concerted ‘obligation’. So what can we do to fulfil this obligation and contribute to the acceleration, rather than the deceleration of progress? We’ve been using #InternationalWomensWeek to educate ourselves on this very topic. The Ceannas team have had the pleasure of hearing from experts on the topics of men’s role in gender equity, the power of representation in UK organisations, women in Board leadership and the importance of women’s stories in creating inclusive, safe and equitable spaces in the workplace. Thank you to Dr Natalia Blagburn, Rebecca Hunt, Kate Baucherel, Amy Lewin, Robert Baker and John Amaechi OBE for some fascinating and insightful conversations so far this week. We’re also very much looking forward to the ‘Gender Equality and Intersectionality at Work’ session this morning with Victoria Burnip and Isha Sadiq. But what next? What are your suggestions for how individuals, leaders and organisations can move beyond allyship, and instead towards being true agents for change and progress? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below. #InvestinWomen #AccelerateProgress #IWD2024

Happy International Women's day! Thank you to the ones that have come before us, the ones who were brave for all of us. Last years theme was Equity and #EmbraceEquity and I thought it was perfect! So, what's the difference between equity and equality - and why is it important to understand, acknowledge and value this? The IWD #EmbraceEquity campaign theme was to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough" - and can in fact be exclusionary, rather than inclusive. Equity means giving everyone the resources or opportunities they need to achieve the same outcomes, taking into account their circumstances or needs Equity is not the same as equality. Equity is about being fair and impartial. Equity seeks to change systems that actively disadvantage and marginalize groups. At OpenText, we have been centered on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing. This years theme for 2024 is Inspire inclusion! #InspireInclusion “I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a b----. You’ve got to go out and kick ass. ”Dr. Maya Angelou"

Woke going too far! Where are the feminists whilst women’s language and rights are being erased? The irony in current trends of representation cannot be overlooked. In an era where empowering women should be paramount, it’s perplexing to see a shift where men, now identifying as women, are increasingly becoming the face of women’s issues. This development might prompt one to question if the intentions of these woke movements and virtue-signaling corporations have gone astray. Amidst a multitude of genuinely remarkable women from diverse backgrounds, it’s ironic and perhaps distressing, that the choice often falls on men to represent women’s perspectives and experiences. This situation casts a shadow on the efforts to authentically represent and celebrate the achievements and challenges of women and it needs to be addressed.

President of the Velocity Femme Foundation | Motorsports Marketing Queen 👸🏽| I help women in motorsports take center stage✨ Host of Top 10% podcast Velocity Femme 🏁🎙️
Women in motorsports need to be included in the women in sports conversation more. We always hear about women in sports but most of the time people don't automatically think about women in motorsports unless they are already race fans or a part of the racing community. There needs to be more awareness when it comes to women in motorsports so it is normalized to think about them automatically in that conversation. I share some of my insights and hot takes about this subject. Check out the full video on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/ghjArZxc #womeninmotorsports #womeninsports #racing #motorsports

In today’s fast-paced environment, the ability to think strategically and lead transformative initiatives is crucial for staying competitive and achieving lasting impact.
I will challenge gender stereotypes, discrimination and bias! I was raised singing songs like “What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and all things nice” and whilst I actually loved it at the time, and it appeared harmless when my parents sang it to me - I realise now that it started at a very young age. In fairness, my mother and father (and especially my father) championed me to succeed in sports - I was a sprinter, hockey and netball player and ultra competitive. They also encouraged me with my music, and found ways to demonstrate my talents. Even in his Father of the Bride speech, my Dad spoke about how strong I was, and that I was stronger than most men (but in the context of it being surprising, because I was a woman.) My Dad couldn’t help it, he was born in the 50’s and of a different generation, but my sisters and I would challenge him none the less. I would be out on the driveway lifting large rolls of carpet, packs of solid oak flooring (he was fitter by trade) up onto my shoulder, or lifting massive bags of salt into the house (for our water softener) and generally doing anything I could to impress him, and prove that #thisgirlcan - I was one of three girls! Despite this, as was the way back then, I grew up imagining a CEO was a man, that a feminist, or anyone who left work early to collect their kids, or a nurse for example, were women. Gender based stereotypes (and any stereotype) have no place in today’s society, but whilst we’ve come a long way since the Emiline Pankhurst days, we still see that person look at the woman at the table to take notes, fetch the tea’s or collect the guests etc.. amongst others.. including even the words people use to describe our behaviour, or emotions. If you don’t remember this advert, you need to see it. I’m sharing now because I think it’s an amazingmy powerful demonstration of how even words are gender biased. #inspireinclusion #iwd2024 #internationalwomensweek #inclusion #speakout #speakoutforothers #womeninhistory #womeninbusiness #womeninsports #nike

Founder & Chief Leadership Coach ACCELLE Inc. I help ACCELLErate the personal and professional success of women through content, coaching and community.
"Come on Barbie let's go party....and celebrate...Ken?" Oscars buzz is in full swing, and there's a noticeable void in this year's nominations – a gap that demands attention AND discussion. BARBIE. The resonance of Greta Gerwig's absence in the "Best Director" category and the omission of Margot Robbie in the "Best Actress" category is impossible to ignore. Are we yet again overlooking the contributions of women in pivotal roles? Sadly it doesn't end there, as Ryan Gosling secures an unexpected nomination for "Best Actor" Oscar for his role in Barbie. Anyone else sensing the IRONY here??? This wasn't even lost on Gosling who expressed his surprise and disappointment regarding the lack of recognition for his fellow women co-star and Director. If this sounds familiar, it should. Isn't this the plotline of Barbie? Isn't this the narrative of so many other professional women? As we continue to grapple with this issue, not only in film but in other industries, it becomes critical to ensure we apply a lens of inclusivity to acknowledgement and recognition. Join the conversation and share your thoughts on the ongoing Barbie controversy. We value diverse perspectives and invite you to express your thoughts on this intriguing topic! #Oscars2024 #FilmIndustry #Barbietalent #GretaGerwig #MargotRobbie #RyanGosling #InclusiveRecognition #FilmMagic
