Star (low speed efficiency) or delta connection (better power and high-speed efficiency), seamless, switchable during operation. Ok, that's not new. It's been around for some time in the industrial sector, but switchable during operation in the EV is interesting. It requires a second set of switches in the inverter, but when used simultaneously with the 800V OBDC, the separate DC/DC can be saved. It is always exciting to see what is still happening technologically with electric motors (and batteries). We are definitely at the beginning. Maybe I can get some support and further classification and numbers, what are your thoughts? Power2Drive Munich thoughts (1/4) - EV charger commoditization I just spent three days at the largest EV show in Europe. Here are my thoughts: EV charging hardware is undergoing rapid commoditization. About 40% of the trade show was filled with Chinese manufacturers. Many of them offer great quality products at incredibly low prices. As EV electrification prevails and the OCPP standard matures, more value will shift from the commoditized charger to the software and algorithms managing large-scale deployments.
