Sustainable stage technology with HOAC® profiles We encounter sustainability in all areas. The European Union has set an ambitious target with the Green Deal: Europe will be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To achieve this, we need to change the way we develop, manufacture, purchase and use products. For us, sustainability starts with product development. A well thought-out product design is very important. This decides on durability and reparability. This is the only way to avoid the unnecessary consumption of resources. 30 years ago, we developed the system frame from which a modular system has grown. It should be simple and easy. Stages, grandstands or turntables can be easily extended or converted. The wide range of accessories makes it possible to attach everything to the frame and remove it again without leaving any residue. The specially developed HOAC®-LinkBlock is the center of the System Frame. This enables simple, tool-free connection of the frame profiles. In the meantime, different profiles have been developed for different applications. These are compatible with each other via the standard frame groove. The materials and modularity make the system very durable. For example, a touring theater in the Netherlands still uses one of the first models we developed almost 30 years ago. HOAC® profiles are more than just a connecting element. 🌍 Exciting Visit to the Irish DECO2 Demo Site! 🌍 🔷 In December, partners from 3L visited Ireland. The team from TUS Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI) and the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board hosted a comprehensive tour of the Irish Living Lab in Limerick City and the TUS PRISM research facility in Athlone. 📍 The visit began with a tour of the demo building in Limerick, showcasing the site for DECO2 demonstration activities. The EURBAN Limited team had a wonderful time at the annual International Forum Holzbau (IFH) Conference in Innsbruck. As always, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with our international colleagues and exchange knowledge, learn from diverse approaches and reflect on the shared challenges and solutions in mass timber construction.  The Conference programme covered a wide range of topics from showcasing some of the latest innovations, new connections and products to standards testing and highlighting the need for client engagement and collaboration to address shared sustainability goals.  Key takeaways from the event included creative connection design, circular economy solutions and the importance of durability over short-termism - emphasizing the need to educate clients on long-term value.  IFH’s strong programme inspired actionable ideas to refine practices and foster collaboration. During our recent visit to BAU 2025 FORMA 2 team was warmly welcomed by Schüco International KG, and we eagerly explored their exhibition booth. The company's message aligns perfectly with the goals of the European Green Deal — to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This cannot be accomplished through new construction alone, so existing buildings must be renovated. Renovation is more than just modernisation — it is a strategic step toward reducing CO₂ emissions, improving energy efficiency and creating safer, more comfortable living spaces.
