As I learn more about #decarbonization methods, I am finding something fundamental missing from many articles... 😯 Return to the natural carbon cycle!! The movement of carbon atoms between the atmosphere (air and other gases), lithosphere (Earth's crust), and hydrosphere (bodies of water). Carbon atoms that bind with oxygen atoms to form carbon dioxide (CO2) is created through various processes and moves through these spheres in a cycle. Our goal with carbon dioxide removal technologies is to AID this cycle in returning to some sort of normal so I believe it is crucial to make sure we are including a brief overview of this cycle in our analysis. I say this because I have always been the type of learner that needs to understand the WHY of something to fully comprehend the importance. I too started out as a skeptic behind new geoengineering #technology, but in my view, approaching the process as a way to level out the natural carbon cycle is worth exploring 😎 What do you think? Are you skeptical or do you want to learn more? 🤔 Share below or connect and message me! 🤗 Kindness Always 🌎💕 Katherine Almquist #geology #engineering #katherinealmquist
