🚀 Crafting an Effective Sales CV: Helpful Tips Are you looking to kick-start or elevate your sales career? Your CV is the first step in showcasing your potential. Here are some pointers to consider: 📌 Bullet Points Are Your Friends: Keep it concise and easy to scan. Use bullet points to break down your accomplishments, making it effortless for recruiters to see your value at a glance. 🎯 Prioritize Hard Skills: In the sales world, it's all about results. Highlight your quantifiable achievements, using specific numbers to illustrate your success. For example, "Increased sales revenue by 30% in the first quarter" is more impactful than "Increased sales revenue." 🤝 Client Relationships: Showcase your ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Mention key accounts or clients you've managed successfully. It's all about fostering long-term partnerships. 🌐 Product Knowledge: Highlight what you've been selling and the industries you've been interacting with. Demonstrating your expertise in the products and industries adds value to your profile. 💰 Sales Metrics Matter: Incorporate specific sales metrics to underline your impact. Conversion rates, deal sizes, and customer retention rates provide concrete evidence of your capabilities. 💪 Don't Be Afraid to Brag: It's okay to brag about your successes. Mention your largest order secured, where you exceeded your target, and by how much. Showcase those bragging rights proudly. Your CV is your sales pitch to potential employers. Make it shine by emphasizing what sets you apart and what you can bring to the table. 🌟 #SalesCareer #CVTips #HardSkills #Qualifications #SalesSuccess

Some old but we think important tips to include in your CV for Sales Roles 👉 Put your figures on there, not just % of target and don't make it up, any decent Sales Leader will want to take a deep dive into the numbers and you be caught out. 👉 Don't say 'we' did this, 'we' did that, it suggests you weren't responsible, it should be all about you. 'I' did this... 👉 Add a reason for leaving, it removes any potential doubt over short tenures and be honest about it. 👉 Briefly explain what the product/solution was for each role and who you sold it to. Don't expect the hirer to know, or have to research online 👉 Remove all photos ! 👉 Make sure your LinkedIn profile matches your CV ! (You will be amazed how often this isn't the case) 👉 Before even sending the CV and going through the application process, try using your sales ability to get a meeting After all, it's what you do for a living, right ? I've probably reviewed 6,000+ sales resumes in my career. Most suck. But what they're lacking is summed up in 1 word. But most people sit there staring blankly at their sales resume, wondering how to improve it. Here's your answer in 1 dead-simple word: 📈 Results Look at your resume. Is it merely a job description telling the reader what you were supposed to do? Instead, salespeople and sales leaders should be thinking about their resume as a marketing vehicle. And what's going to get the hiring manager excited about hiring you? 👉 Demonstrating the results that you achieved! So do yourself a favor and chock your resume full of the following: ✅ Show me the dollars. Deal sizes. Quota size. Annual revenue generated. ✅ Show me percentages. Percentage increase in deal size. Territory growth. Percentage reduction in sales cycles. ✅ Show me rankings. Where do you rank on your team? Where do you rank in the company? ✅ Show me accomplishments. How many times did you make President's Club? What records did you smash? If you do these things, you'll improve your chances of getting that interview because your resume will make you look like a rockstar. And when you do get that interview, you can prepare for your interview by downloading my Salesperson Interview Question Template with 77 Questions you can use to prepare for that sales interview. Director Talent Acquisition @ PrimeTime |Helping SaaS and Technology companies hires Sales, Marketing and Customer Success Candidates that can make a difference
The better questions you ask in the interview the higher your chances will be a successful outcome. For a Sales candidate certainly ask the basics. What is the quota? What is the territory? What is an average win and what does a big win look like? What is the base salary and the commission. How and when does it get paid out. Absolutely look at RepVue even before you apply for a position. One question that few people ask that will give you a great idea of who you are dealing with is. When the Sales candidate asks the Sales Leader "What do you credit your success to?" Then let them speak their answer should give you a great idea of the person you would be working for. What question do you like for a Sales candidate?
