My repository on "Optimizing AWS Client VPN concurrent user management" got published on Serverless Land. The repository introduces a solution along with a AWS Cloudformation template for easy deployment which uses a Lambda handler that incorporates custom logic to manage concurrent user logins effectively. By implementing this handler, users will gain insights into authorizing only the latest connection upon user authentication, automatically terminating older connections and thereby enhancing security while maintaining a streamlined user experience in their AWS Client VPN environment. Link: https://lnkd.in/gth5GF6w Thanks Gaurav Singh & Sameer Shrivastava for your valuable contributions. #awsclientvpn #lambda #serverless #serverlessland #aws #cloudcomputing

🚀 Maximizing AWS Lambda for Better Performance 🌟 . Here are my top tips for fine-tuning your AWS Lambda functions for optimal performance. . . 1️⃣ Memory Allocation Memory isn't just about avoiding out-of-memory errors; it directly influences CPU power and network throughput. Increasing memory can sometimes reduce the overall execution time and cost. . You may ask yourself - how can more memory cut my costs? . It's counterintuitive, right? . But with Lambda you pay in GB-second. So, both memory and execution time play a key role in your total cost. . So there are cases where increasing your memory can reduce your execution time 10-fold - so overall, you will pay less, even if you use more memory. . . 2️⃣ Understanding CPU Scaling With Lambda, CPU power scales with memory. More memory means more CPU, leading to faster execution for CPU-bound tasks. . . 3️⃣ Concurrency and Threading Leveraging multithreading can significantly improve performance, especially for I/O-bound operations. It's like having multiple workers handle different parts of a task simultaneously. . . 4️⃣ Monitoring and Adjusting Keep an eye on metrics like execution time, memory usage, and concurrency. . AWS CloudWatch is your friend here. Adjust memory based on your function's needs and behavior. . . Balancing these aspects can turn your Lambda functions into high-performance engines, ready to scale as needed. . Stay tuned for more tips! 🚀 #AWSLambda #Serverless #PerformanceTuning #awscommunity

Step Functions on AWS can make understanding and tracking the flow of your #serverless applications much easier. These “state machines” can be triggered in many different ways including via AWS Lambda calls, Eventbridge triggers, and with API gateway calls. This article from Donovan Hoang discusses the choices of asynchronous vs synchronous calls with step functions and provides all the code to try it out for yourself and learn how it works.
