Community Pharmacist,Registered Psychotherapist(Qualifying),Pharmacy profession Mentor ,Professional Affairs lead at HDPhA.
you know that you are doing the right thing in creating a value of sincere inclusion to everyone when your assistant who dose not speak a word of Arabic and who identifies as a Caucasian woman go to google translate to translate instructions and copy and paste them on a paper to add in the bag of a patient prescription and ask me to make sure translation is right(although she knows I will counsel the patient in Arabic!) and I have not even asked her to do this ! Community pharmacy teams have lots of value in them if you foster and embrace a real sincere values of respect , honor and patient centered care while you flush in the toilet your biases , personal agendas and pleasing entitled people , oh by the way , embracing real values centered around patient care needs time and lots of it , invest in training your team the basics of human values and walk the talk , employees are not hours to count , they are human beings to educate, grow and learn from especially in #healthcare ! #changehealthcare #changeyourmindset #humanbehaviour #workethics #pharmacist #communitypharmacy #pharmacyassitants #pharmacytechnicians #healthcare

Founder & CEO at Nubuto and Dragoman | Championing Linguistic Services | Technology Evangelist | Innovating in Translation and Interpreting
When a patient doesn't speak your language, it can be tempting to turn to a bilingual family member and ask them to interpret for you. Doing so can be damaging for a number of reasons: 1. You can't be sure they're accurately delivering the right message. 2. The patient may miss vital information because their family member doesn't have the same medical knowledge as you. 3. The emotional connection between the patient and their family member makes any interpretation impartial and therefore unethical. 4. It can be upsetting for the family member to deliver bad news to the patient. In one case, a 9-year-old girl died because her family wasn't provided with a professional interpreter, leading to her parents lacking vital information about the potential side effects of her treatment. In most cases, the impact won't be this extreme, but it's still not something worth risking. Always go with the experts. #MedicalInterpreters #Interpreting #Healthcare #LanguageServices #Experts

The fact that we, ordinary people, must produce evidence to showcase why the ongoing tragedy is wrong speaks volumes about the failure of humanity. Never before have I felt such deep despair witnessing how governments, corporates, and the world at large have become heartless and inhumane. After 38 days of witnessing the most horrific scenes, the stark reality persists—there's a glaring absence of compassion and humanity. It's disheartening to realize that while we read about people losing their jobs and creating alternative profiles, the world is trending towards workplaces including empathy, compassion, wellbeing, and humanizing organizations in 2024. Diversity is once again in the spotlight, but in the face of a genocide, the collective response seems to be rooted in hate, victimization, narcissism, and anarchism. This juxtaposition is both baffling and disheartening. With heavy hearts, Al-Shifa Hospital medical staff forced to dig a mass grave to bury 170 bodies as the hospital can't refrigerate bodies without electricity. Israeli minister Bezalel Smotrich says “voluntary migration” is the only solution for Palestinians in Gaza Strip. https://lnkd.in/dxWnjeFg
