I was working with the sales team. One of the team mate with whom I was working identified a gap between what was desired and what currently existed. There was a product on the shelf which had expired and while I was observing... ...I saw him to be quick and action oriented in his approach. He brought the product down and highlighted the same to the retailer. While this is basics in the #retail trade however what's common also needs that much needed commonsense. Our brains are wired for problem-solving. They are constantly taking in information, making connections and identifying patterns. Our careers are shaped by little things. This, the next time you face a challenge, remember that it's your mind's work to recognize the problem and creatively craft a solution. My first job was in retail sales. I started working when I was in 7th standard. I used to go shop as we had a family business. From there I started my journey in the retail sales industry. I have done that for more than 7 years. Here's what I learned in retail sales and still apply it today: - Be authentic - Help your customers - Listen to their queries - Have your products ready - Guide them if they are skeptical - Provide excellent customer service - Sell them of what they want - Don't compete with price - Compete with value - Stay consistent - Build trust And most importantly, be honest in your dealings.
