New capability on the platform: Super Resolution (SR)! Customers on the Eartheye Space platform could now task a low-resolution (LR) sensor satellite and receive higher-resolution (HR) data within a few hours: one workflow, one order, one payment. Why is it cool? 1️⃣ Improved detection and classification: Analysts and machines can easily detect objects of interest and automatically classify features in HR more accurately than in LR 2️⃣ Cost efficiency: High-resolution imagery is expensive; enhancing lower-cost low-resolution images to higher resolution via computational algorithms is cheaper by up to 50%. 3️⃣ More frequent: Several LR sensor satellites are readily available compared to HR satellites, which tend to be capacity-constrained. Repeat captures become attractive when the temporal resolution benefit is combined with the cost. Overall, SR optimises the utility of satellite imagery, making earth observation data accessible, affordable and, more importantly, #usable. 🌏 Eartheye Space makes Enhancing Satellite Data uber-easy. 🛰 Ask for a demo at www.eartheye.space or register at tasking.eartheye.space 💲 Pay as you task, from your annual US$5,000 (min) credit. ✅ Available for any size organisation. ♻ Please repost or share with anyone you know who may be interested in solving strategic and operational issues with Earth Observation. #EarthObservation #RemoteSensing #GeoSpatial #SatelliteImagery #SuperResolution #SpatialResolution #Space #SpaceTech #EartheyeSpace

Ubotica's SPACE:AI agents can be programmed in orbit to adapt to diverse Earth observation tasks. SPACE:AI autonomously processes data onboard, enabling satellites to analyse and respond in real time without relying on ground stations. For example, the Cloud Removal and Compression (CRC) agent detects and removes clouds, reducing data bottlenecks, while the Dark Vessel Detection (DVD) agent identifies and tracks non-broadcasting ships in real time. By combining onboard processing with programmability, these AI agents unlock new observing strategies, reduce latency, and optimise satellite resources for tasks like dynamic targeting, anomaly detection, or environmental monitoring. #SpaceAI #EarthObservation #AutonomousSatellites #Innovation

Imagine a future where your 'WheresMyCat' app alerts you with a satellite image of your cat on your neighbor's rooftop! With satellites like Maxar Intelligence’s new WorldView Legion, this could soon be a reality. On July 18, Maxar Intelligence unveiled the first stunning images from their WorldView Legion satellites. Launched just a few months ago, these advanced Earth observation satellites has the ability to capture 30 cm -class high-resolution imagery! These satellites will provide unprecedented detail for a myriad of applications - from defense and intelligence to urban planning and disaster response. All six satellites should become operational by the end of 2024. The ability to revisit the same location multiple times a day means we can monitor changes and respond to events in near real-time. In 2022, Maxar secured a $3.2 billion contract with the National Reconnaissance Office to supply imagery and mapping services over the next decade. The future of satellite technology is bright. The use of machine learning (#ML) and artificial intelligence (#AI) in the interpretation of satellite imagery will allow large volumes of data to be processed swiftly automating the identification and categorization of objects or surface changes.
