I’m happy to share that I have started a new position as a Data Scientist at Academic Programs International (API)!

I am excited to say that I have graduated from the Institute for Advanced Analytics with my master's degree. The past 10 months have been an incredible experience and learning opportunity. I am thankful to have learned from the best faculty and staff there is. Also, I am thrilled to join Academic Programs International (API) as a Data Scientist. I am looking forward to this exciting new chapter of my career!

Already an overwhelming amount of support from classmates, faculty, staff, friends, and family! Some may call me crazy, but it's going to be epic! Please consider supporting in whatever way you feel led to.

Life at the Institute for Advanced Analytics moves fast, and Fall 2 is certainly no exception. During this term, we dove into data mining and time series analysis, completed a text analytics project, and undertook a visualization project in collaboration with NC State's women's tennis team. Both individually and as a team, we were pushed beyond our comfort zones, learning to trust our teammates and leverage their strengths. Working alongside Amelia Davenport, Yi-Chun Lai, Tae Lee, and Danny Ta was an absolute pleasure. Pictured here, we celebrated the submission of our final deliverable for Fall 2! Excited to see what Fall 3 brings!

I am excited to share that I earned a new certification: PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer from OpenEDG Python Institute. While working on obtaining my certification these past two weeks, we had linear algebra and communication week. During linear algebra week, I gained an understanding of foundational concepts related to the regression concepts we learned in the summer as well as concepts that we will learn in the fall. During communication week, we worked on developing our presentation skills through individual and team presentations. Throughout the whole week, we were challenged to engage, take risks, and, as always, trust the process. After a few days off, I am looking forward to starting the fall semester tomorrow!

My first month at the Institute for Advanced Analytics came to an end yesterday, and as a proud member of Orange Team 10, we presented our summer practicum project. After analyzing a year's worth of flight data from the US DOT, we shared our findings on minimizing inefficiencies on the ground and in the air. Over this past month, I've improved my understanding of foundational statistical concepts and multiple types of regression, as well as my Python and R skills. It has been an incredible learning experience to apply what I am learning in the classroom directly through the summer practicum.

I'm excited to announce that after graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May, I will be attending the Institute for Advanced Analytics at NC State, pursuing a Master's of Science in Analytics. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my life and learning valuable new skills. I want to say thank you to Valerie Schwartz for helping me through the admission process, and I can't wait to get started in June!
