The Environment Agency is asking landowners, businesses and members of the public to be vigilant and report any plastic-wrapped bales they see in suspicious places, which are unlikely to be silage or hay stored by farmers or equestrian facilities. An investigation, resulting in the arrest of three men near Peterborough, has identified large-scale, organised deposits of waste across counties including Lincolnshire. Bales of waste were found in coloured plastic wrap disguised as farming bales.
