It's 2024, and we're celebrating our 150th anniversary! We're excited to share that we've received a $200,000 transformative multi-year grant from @petsmartcharities as part of their "Accelerator" program, aimed at improving access to veterinary care in communities. “With deep appreciation for the PetSmart Charities grant, East Bay SPCA is embarking on a transformative journey. This endeavor extends beyond the scope of providing veterinary care," explains Allison Lindquist, President/CEO at East Bay SPCA. “This initiative is a commitment to building a healthier and more connected community. The grant will allow us to expand our services so more pet owners in our region can access affordable and high-quality veterinary care. We believe that by making veterinary care more accessible to more residents, we are contributing to the overall well-being of our community and fostering a deep bond between pets and their owners.” Fifty million pets in the U.S. currently experience a lack of access to even basic veterinary care. Rising costs and various obstacles have resulted in these pets struggling to obtain services such as spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, and critical medical and preventative care. With pets now residing in approximately 70% of households, this issue affects families across nearly every community. Thank you PetSmart Charities for your partnership in making pet care accessible to more community members!
