Over the last two days, we’ve spoken with providers across the country about the fear and chaos caused by the brief federal funding freeze. The abrupt halt in funding disrupted essential services for people with disabilities, veterans, and families who rely on them, and while the freeze has been lifted, the uncertainty remains. As our CEO Kendra Davenport shared with The New York Times, this moment is a stark reminder that critical funding for programs like Medicaid, job training, and housing assistance is never guaranteed. The panic and disruption felt by our Affiliates, who were suddenly left calculating how long they could operate without federal funds, should never happen again. We need to make sure the people who rely on these services have the support they deserve by protecting the services that millions of Americans rely on. Everyone wants federal dollars to be spent responsibly, but it is also important to make sure that hard working Americans are protected. We’re closely monitoring the situation and will continue advocating for the communities we serve. https://lnkd.in/gX3temZa
Not guaranteed but keeps us from revolution
