Today, May 15, Enhesa announced the appointment of Laurent Marcelis as Chief Financial Officer (#CFO). As part of Enhesa’s leadership team, Marcelis is charged with helping to support the company’s rapid growth as it continues to expand its offerings and drive innovation across its EHS Intelligence, Corporate Sustainability, Product Intelligence and Sustainable Chemistry practices. Marcelis joins Enhesa from Unifiedpost, a leader in cloud-based business process solutions for administrative and financial services, where he served most recently as CFO. Our first 90 days with the Khalid Zaman from the CFO Centre….. I approached the CFO group during a period where we were without a Financial Director, as it was quite appealing to have support from a highly experienced commercial FD/CFO part time, for a fraction of a price of a full time Financial Director. As a company we understood how essential the role was for the future growth of the company, but for the size of our company, we just wouldn’t be able to support the Salary of the correct person. I did initially have doubts about the payback we would get from working with the CFO group, however I decided that it would be worth exploring. We were assigned Khalid Zaman, who coincidentally had experience in Aerospace, with a strong commercial background and having served time as the FD for many BAE Systems businesses globally, with Aerospace being our target market. It couldn’t have worked out better. We’ve been working with Khalid on a weekly basis for the past 3 months, and I can confidently say it was one of the best business decisions we made. In a very short amount of time we have made huge progress. We have got to a position where we have accurate cash flow forecasts, a solid business plan for the next 5 years, supported by solid financial forecasts. Khalid provides constructive challenge, and his proactive nature and out of the box thinking has changed the way we operate. from an accounting point of view, bringing in a more project accounting-based method of forecasting and management of the business and contracts, which is perfect for our business. I can’t praise Khalid enough for the impact he has had on the business from day one, his contribution has helped us to start to think differently and bigger and is genuinely helping us to plan the bright future of Futura Systems by understanding the levers to pull to add value within our group. We no longer look month by month, we are now looking 5 years plus ahead, which gives us an exciting future..
