East Suffolk Council’s Post

Demolition works have now been completed by Harte Demolition at the former Battery Green multi-storey car park in Lowestoft, making way for a brand-new community hub with studio space for creative businesses, a leisure complex, and a restaurant. Demolition works have also been completed by P J Spillings on the northern wing of the Marina Centre, with the work now focused on the inside of the building, including fitting new windows in the rotunda of the building which connects with the Marina Theatre café. These works are estimated to be complete by March. Morgan Sindall will then begin the main construction works in April. As part of the demolition works at the former Battery Green car park, a new sub-station has been built to house UK Power Networks power supply. Connecting the substation to the power will start on site on Saturday 25 January and this is expected to take two weeks. On Saturday 25 January only, the works will start at 4.30am and whilst we do not expect this work to generate significant noise, there may be some disturbance and we would like to thank you for your patience.

Can't wait to see how this looks. Excited to see Lowestoft and East Suffolk attracting funding to restore the town to some of its former glory.
