In preparation for the 2024 "Most Pointless Spam Email" Awards, here is my nomination. I would like to nominate "Sabihina1996" for the following missive: "Greetings, we hope all is well with you. Companies have determined that the key drivers of the overall business can no longer be distinguished from the key drivers of their technology groups. The 2020s are the culmination of this trend, which began with the advent of the internet and online businesses." I have provided the full text of the email so that you can enjoy it in its entirety. Sabihina1996 has managed to bring together several aspects of the spammer's craft into one seamless whole. Feel warmed by the bland greeting! Admire the impossibly vague pomposity of the opening statement. Wonder at the finality of the conclusion, with its hints of End Times and New Beginnings. Admire the brevity of the overall message - who needs a CTA with information so clear and precise as this?! Marketers, Assemble. You have a new Master amongst you. Well, that's my nomination. I look forward to hearing about the other contenders.

🙋♂️ If you are an email marketer, can you answer these three questions about your sending setup? 1. Are you using shared IPs or custom IPs? 2. Are you using a shared or a custom domain? 3. What is your reason for setting it up that way? 🎯 Bulk email sending no longer has space for un-targeted practices, including concerning your sending domain/IP setup. (You can thank the evolving spam-filter algos for that. 😄) To make sure you are intentionally set up for your needs, check out this resource: https://lnkd.in/eHFwRc6x #deliverabilityweek #emailmarketing #emailmarketingtips #domain #ip

Sending unsolicited spam emails through an ESP that are CLEARLY from a purchased email list is not a GTM strategy for 2024. Or any other year in the past decade for that matter. The damage that can be done to your domain reputation is no joke. It can take months to recover deliverability if your spam rates are too high...that assumes you can repair it. Three tips for success 1. Under no circumstances purchase a list and then send it through an ESP 2. Under no circumstances purchase a list and then send it through an ESP 3. You can’t overlook any part of your cold email setup With Google and Outlook constantly introducing changes You can’t make a mistake when setting up your sending accounts Some things you must do are: 1. Do your technical setup ↳ DKIM, SPF, DMARC, MX record, custom tracking domain These are non-negotiables to establish trust with ISPs 2. Warm up your sending email address ↳ Make sure they warm up for at least 14 days If you want to use a tool specifically built for that you can try Mailivery - Land in the Inbox 3. Verify your lead list ↳ Ensure you’re reaching out to actual people to maximize results I strongly recommend double-verifying your leads 4. Avoid spam words ↳ Run your copy on a spam checker before sending If you can also send a placement test it would be ideal 5. Increase your sending number gradually ↳ So you don't get marked as a spammer by your ESP Neve rush this or it will start going wrong quickly You have to take every precaution you can Otherwise, you risk everything going to waste And have to start all over again What practices do you add when setting up for sending?
