We are incredibly grateful to have Silvia Margoni (first-generation EMBS Alumni) join us during our Organizational Behavior and HRM course in the European Master in Business Studies at UniTrento DEM. Her insights and expertise have truly enriched our experience! 🌟🌟🌟 The activity focused on exploring personal and behavioral characteristics through engaging discussions to enhance personal development and gain deeper insights into how teams can work more effectively. 🌱💼 Using DISC assessments, a behavioral self-assessment tool inspired by William Moulton Marston's DISC theory (1928), we delved into emotional intelligence, team dynamics, and strategies for personal growth. While the validity of DISC remains a topic of debate, the rich classroom dialogue allowed us to foster competencies and better understand our roles within collaborative settings. A special thanks to the students for accepting the challenge and making this opportunity possible. Shaping Ranks, Shaping Futures – ALLEN, with a Student-First Approach.

What’s the best thing about DMU? There are so many opportunities that vie for top billing, but for me one of our strongest contenders has to be our DMU Global trips… The opportunities for students to depart the UK and experience new countries and cultures as part of organised trips led by academics and professional services is the stuff of legend. For sure I was late to the party on this one, initially dismissing the amount of work involved in leading a group overseas as too much, however it’s been a revelation and each trip has fast become a major highlight of my academic year whenever I run them. Two trips in the past year with two more booked for early / mid 2025, and a third in the offing, mean that despite the work involved (if you are gonna do something then do it right) there are quality experiences literally beyond the horizon, to look forward to that will genuinely transform lives. Kishan Naker at DMU Global asked me to join a selection of former DMU Global travelers on film and share a little on what is so fab about going overseas on a trip. Just my take on what is oh so special about extending the campus reach, to cross continents and cultures and help expand the minds of students as to what is possible when we take the gloves off.
