One of Japan’s smallest and lightest: Infineon GaN solutions enable new vehicle-to-everything (V2X) charging systems by OMRON Social Solutions *We partnered with OMRON Group to develop an innovative V2X charging system. *This GaN Powered system allows bi-directional charging and discharging paths between renewable energy sources, the power grid and the vehicles' batteries. Benefits: *60 percent reduction in size and weight compared to similar conventional chargers and dischargers, while providing 6 kW of charging power. *Increased the power efficiency by more than 10% at low load and by about 4% at rated load. This makes the grid smarter and promotes the adoption of electric vehicles while driving decarbonization.
New vehicle-to-everything charging system fostering decarbonization and digitalization⚡ On the road to a smarter power grid, we partnered with OMRON Group to develop an innovative Vehicle-To-Everything (V2X) charging system. This system, enabled by our gallium nitride (GaN)-based power supply solutions and Omron's innovative circuit topology and control technology, allows bi-directional charging and discharging paths between renewable energy sources, the power grid and the vehicles' batteries. How does it work? 💡 ℹ️ Omron's KPEP-A series is one of the smallest and lightest multi-V2X systems in Japan, with a 60 percent reduction in size and weight compared to similar conventional chargers and dischargers, while providing 6 kW of charging power. The integration of our CoolGaN solution has increased the power efficiency of the V2X systems by more than 10% at low load and by about 4% at rated load.
