Stories are very effective methods for disseminating our work. Lately, I have gathered the narratives with the goal of compiling a report. We, as a team, are seeing the effects of our hard work via impactful stories. The father's involvement is vital in early childhood development and in promoting gender equality in humanitarian and protracted crisis. I am extremely excited about learning from our colleagues who work directly in the field. Their efforts consistently enhance our confidence in designing new projects and interventions. #PtL #ECDiE #BRAC_Life #Gender_Intersectionality #Child_Development #Stories #Knowledge_Management

Today, we come together to honour the strength of widows globally. This year's theme focuses on advancing gender equality and addressing the unique challenges facing widows around the world. Widows often encounter discriminatory barriers that impede their ability to thrive. By advocating for their rights and providing support, we can foster a more equitable society. We call for: - Equal access to justice, protection from violence and inheritance rights. - Equality in opportunities for economic empowerment and financial stability. - Equal access to healthcare and social services. - Putting an end to stigma, respecting their dignity and involving them in decision-making processes. Today, we reaffirm our dedication to gender equality and empowering widows to lead fulfilling lives. Let's collaborate to build a world where all women, including widows, can live with dignity and respect. #InternationalWidowsDay #GenderEquality #LesiNunumaa #HumanRightsAdvocate #LegalResearcher

Gender Justice and Human Rights issues comprise both males and females, however, we have paid so much attention to women and girls, and this is for many obvious reasons that women and girls are on the receiving end and bear the brunt of societal ills that leverage on patriarchial nature of the African society. In as much as that has been the case, we are not neglecting the men, the boys whose cultural norms and stereotypes have enabled them to become perpetrators of all forms of gender-based violence. We are also considering them as victims of violence and circumstances 😢 hearing some of their stories both told and untold, you will suddenly realise that they also face gender-based violence in a different subtle way. OSAI FOUNDATION We have a corner called Gent's Corner, where the boys are groomed to understand that they are humans and can cry and pour out and express emotions in a normal way not through their fists or feet or frame. We seek partnerships with other NGOs and INGOs. Let us reach out to this future agent of change. We call out to every young boy and man out there to feel free to reach out, share your stories, be the change, and educate others. Legal frameworks are everywhere pointing out laws that protect, and promote human rights and prosecute perpetrators. The searchlight is on. Don't be a victim of circumstance. Happy International Boy Child Day. We recognise your strengths and weaknesses. We reckon with your efforts to ensure a safe space for all. Happy International Day of the Boy! On this International Day of the Boy, OSAI Foundation isn't just celebrating our boys, we're celebrating changemakers! Through our innovative Gents Corner initiative, we're empowering boys to be part of the solution in the fight for gender justice. Here is why Gents Corner matters: Engaging young minds: We create a safe space for boys to share their stories, experiences, and perspectives on gender equality. Justice for all: We provide support and guidance to boys who may have faced gender-based violence (GBV) or know someone who has. Building a better future: We equip boys with the knowledge and tools to become champions of change, actively working to prevent GBV in their communities. Because real change starts with a conversation. At OSAI Foundation, we believe boys have a critical role to play in creating a world free from gender-based violence. By working together, we can build a future where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered. #InternationalDayoftheBoy #GentsCorner #EndGBV #TogetherWeCan #OSAIFoundation

Today we launch our State of Girls' Rights report, where we uncover just how tough it is to be a girl in the UK. Girls are telling us loud and clear that they aren’t experiencing the progress on gender equality they’ve been promised. And that the future doesn’t look any better. They don’t feel safe, in public or online, and face relentless pressure to look and act a certain way. They feel unprepared by their education, worried for future job prospects and scared by a rising culture of misogyny. Growing up in a cost-of-living crisis and a climate emergency, girls feel uncertain and anxious about their own future and the future of the world. It doesn't have to be this way. Girls are telling us, loud and clear, that they want to be part of creating change. We must listen. Together with girls we can achieve gender equality for this generation.
From Lincolnshire to London, girls across the UK are angry and frustrated about the state of equality and girls’ rights. But it doesn't have to be this way. Girls want to be part of creating change and have their voices heard. It’s time for us all to do more and demand better. Together with girls, we can achieve gender equality for this generation. 🚨 New Report Alert: Plan International UK's The State of Girls' Rights in the UK 2024 🚨 The recently released report on The State of Girls' Rights in the UK 2024 highlights critical issues affecting girls and young women today - all of which we tackle in our work, programmes and festivals with young people. From safety concerns and economic challenges to persistent gender norms and educational inequalities, the findings underscore the urgent need for action, with nearly half of girls feeling societal expectations hold them back, only 5% feeling completely safe in public spaces and persistent inequalities in health, education, and employment. This report arrives on the heels of our inaugural WOW Girls Festival, which engaged over 34,000 people across the UK. Here are some of the impacts: 💥 23,221 children and young people engaged in empowering activities 💥 3,470 children and young people actively participated in the WOW Bus programme, with 61% from marginalized or disadvantaged communities 💥 95% of participants reported increased self-expression and empowerment 💥 91% felt more optimistic about making positive changes in their communities These statistics not only reflect the success of our festival but also highlight the ongoing need to support and uplift girls. The WOW Girls Festival provided safe spaces for expression, fostered creativity, and encouraged leadership and activism among young people. It was made possible by partnerships with BBC Children in Need, Standard Chartered, Mattel, Inc., Arts Council England and local partners. Now, more than ever, we need to unite to combat these challenges and create a brighter future for girls in the UK and beyond. 👉 If you or your organisation are passionate about gender equity and want to work with us to address these critical issues, please get in touch! Together, we can make a lasting impact on girls' rights and opportunities. #GirlsRights #WOWFoundation #WOWGirlsFestival #GenderEquality #YouthEmpowerment #JoinTheMovement
