The 2024 Women's leadership and Policy Summit is being held on March 23 on the campus of San Jose State University. Every year at the summit we recognize women who are doing extraordinary work in our community and nominations are now open in six categories: 1. Luminaries - individuals who have lit up the path to positive change. The award recognizes outstanding leadership and impactful contributions to advancing women's rights and promoting equity for all. 2. Unsung (S)hero - honoring those whose commitments to their community are often felt but not seen.- They are the foundation builders and warriors of justice, wisdom, and compassion. Without them the work does not start nor is it sustained. 3. Collaboration - honoring exceptional teams or collaborators who work together to achieve a shared vision or goal through cooperation, inclusiveness, and outstanding group effort. 4. Compassionate Leader - those whose are making Santa Clara County a more empathetic, kind, and inclusive place. The award recognizes those who exemplify compassion in their work or community service. 5. Equity & Inclusion Champion - who through their work, volunteerism, or personal advocacy are advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity. 6. Women's Champion Award - someone who has been leading the fight for women's rights and equality with unwavering commitment. The award recognizes outstanding advocates who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and impactful contributions to empower women in our community. The awards recognize and honor the powerful women in our valley who are shaping the future. Submit your nominations today at bit.ly/awardnomination2024. The deadline for nominations is February 29, 2024. Award recipients will be recognized at the Women’s Leadership and Policy Summit on March 23, 2024. Let's celebrate the resilience, compassion, and leadership of women!

Women gear up - “All Achievers on Stage” pic should not look like this. March 8 is fast approaching and forums will get into a race to shine light on “#WomenEntrepreneurs” but that’s not the kind of attention we need. In fact I wish to see a world where we don’t need such separate celebrations. Let’s get recognised at equal forums. In a country where businesses, banks, hospitals, educational institutions are led by women we may want to start calling out organisers that conduct events without women speakers and royally ignore celebrating our women entrepreneurs and leaders generally and then rush on 8th March to “celebrate women empowerment”. Event Organisers learn to be #inclusive.
