Fellow unemployed, beware the scams… I had this email come through this morning and, at first glance, looked like good news! Then I saw the credit score request. Keeping your personal info private is impossible when on the job hunt - ESPECIALLY if you are applying to remote positions. The only thing you have left is your SSN. And what is needed in a credit report? You guessed it - your SSN. This one is actually pretty clever because this is an actual company that I applied to ages ago. Give aways may be: - General and vague greeting - It’s not from particular employee - http is missing an “s” at the end - a simple search of using the verbiage brings up multiple similar emails - they make you pay for the credit score As if it isn’t hard enough getting people to look at your application, there are these shananigans. Be careful and if you are unsure about sketchy offers, google it! #opentowork #scams #recruiting #psa

Quick question for all the #agents #recruiters out there. I keep hearing that the market has improved significantly over the last few weeks, but my question is... Where are they.? Even after 6 months I am still looking for a role in software testing, and even with at least a dozen big companies in my local area, I have not seen a single role in the testing arena. So am i missing something, or simply searching in the wrong areas. I am open to a career change as well, but I doubt there are companies interesting in taking on something without years of experience. Hey everyone 🙂 I'm thinking of getting into contracting. I think that it suits my style more (I live to help people and fix things. If that's not contract work, I don't know what is!) and it is less routine, which sounds amazing. By any chance, does anyone know anyone who is looking for a "Data Creative" as a contractor? I've made things, I've fixed things, I think in databases, and I just want to help people. I also see computers as piles of logic that you find out how to communicate with. This means that I can pretty much pick up any language (as has been shown that I've used C# in a project, and Javascript in a project, and DAX in a project, Python, M, VBA... You get the picture. It's all just logic, with different syntax!) as long as I can find the logic. And if tech is just logic, I can pretty much just pick up something and work out how it works 🙂 Also, my aim in life is to help people, so I am very approachable, so feel free to message me 🙂 #contractor #contracting #opentocontract #opentowork
