Question of the day: what factors do I consider when vetting influencers/content creators? Here are some of the things I ask: -Does their audience overlap with our target customer? -Are they truly a good fit for our brand? -Is our customer on their platform(s)? -Is their engagement high? -Are their audience numbers healthy for their price point? -Is their price reasonable and manageable? -Are they on the rise? It’s fun to work with influencers who are peaking, but there is a lot of present and future value in partnering with someone on the ascent. -Have they worked with a competitor before? -Have they overextended themselves with partnerships to the extent that another partner would just seem like waste noise to their audience and not have much impact? -Do they ever re-post past content or is every partnership always one and done? -Have they said anything controversial, out of line with our brand’s values, or that would alienate our customers? (Dig very deeply on this one and follow your gut)
