Sea-temperature increases driven by climate change and the compounding influence of El Niño have bleached coral reefs around the world—including in the Americas, where coral die-off in some areas has been extensive. In April, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the International Coral Reef Initiative, a partnership of governments and organizations, declared a global coral-bleaching event, the fourth registered since 1998. The latest event was detected in February of last year and spread to some 62 countries. Relief may be at hand in the Pacific as the El Niño climate pattern gives way to a likely transition to cooler water temperatures of La Niña. But NOAA forecasts a continuation of the fourth event in the Caribbean and the Atlantic. Said NOAA’s Derek Manzello in a May briefing: “Nearly every single coral reef area in the Atlantic Ocean has experienced bleaching-level heat stress, and this is a new record.” Continue reading at: https://bit.ly/3xbQOSX

What a huge pile of cr@p. Why do these ocean drama pieces never mention that the sustained cold upwellings cause the corral stress and end up ejecting the symbiotic algae? Don't believe me? This winter, go to Belize or Cacun, and snorkel the shallows when the water temperature is around 75 to 78 degrees F. Then go next summer when the water temps will be about 85 to 87 degrees F. That's a drastic difference, but guess what you'll find. The same corrals are still there and quite healthy. Ok, so why? Because slow increases in water temperature, such as the change of seasons, are easily handled by the coral. The same corrals that exist in the 85-degree water in shallow areas also live in deep water, below the 150-foot mark where the water, after dropping through a thermocline, is easily 70 degrees or less. Don't take my word for any of this; be smart and go do what I suggest to get educated on how the scaremongers and climate alarmists use something like this that so few people are aware of to drive home their bids to get more tax dollars funding.

An article in New Scientist about our research at the Centre for Climate Repair working with Real Ice on whether it is possible to thicken Arctic sea ice. Since our initial trip in January this year, Real Ice have been back to Cambridge Bay for additional measurements. Their results on the thickness of the sea ice and its salinity are very encouraging but there is still a long way to go. This winter we will return for bigger field experiments to gain a better understanding of the benefits (and any potential negative impacts) of thickening sea ice. https://lnkd.in/eGGyYwPT

According to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, in the past year, nearly two-thirds of the world’s coral reefs have experienced heat stress at levels high enough to cause bleaching, which can lead to their death. The role that coral reefs play in maintaining a healthy ocean is immeasurable. But rising water temperatures due to climate change are destroying the literal lifelines of our ocean. The greatest opportunity to help protect our ocean, its ecosystems and coastal communities is to transition away from fossil fuels causing climate change to a clean-energy economy based on wind, solar and other renewable sources. Last year, the Biden administration released the Ocean Climate Action Plan, the first of its kind and a commitment to protecting our ocean, detailing ways that ocean solutions can help tackle the climate crisis. Solutions like developing responsible offshore wind, advancing green shipping and protecting blue carbon ecosystems can all contribute to avoiding a climate catastrophe. We must put this plan into action—before it's too late. 🚨 Join us and call on our elected officials to deliver on commitments to address the climate crisis: https://lnkd.in/evbkpGUs 🚨 More from NBC News. ⤵ https://lnkd.in/eiiX_nRA

Climate change is running roughshod over the ocean; corals are one poignant example. But the ocean itself can play a key role in helping the world transition off of fossil fuel, the root of all that ails the ocean. It is high time to fully implement the Biden administration's Ocean Climate Action Plan.

#Read Financial Times Journalists Jana Tauschinski + Emiliya Mychasuk report that Oceans marked 365 straight days of record-breaking global surface sea temperatures this week, fueling concerns among international scientists that climate change could push marine ecosystems beyond a #TippingPoint https://lnkd.in/eK6JcNRA #MainPoints: ‣ Driven by human-caused climate change and amplified by the cyclical El Niño weather phenomenon that warms the Pacific Ocean, this exceptional heat has bleak implications ‣ Richard (Rick) Spinrad, the US under secretary and administrator of NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, said this week that the warming would have “rather dramatic impacts on major storms, on ecosystems” ‣ NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration warned earlier this month that the world was on the brink of experiencing its fourth global mass coral reef bleaching event ‣ NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration’s Coral Reef Watch https://lnkd.in/eR5iy2GV introduced three new bleaching alert levels as several regions, particularly in the eastern Pacific and Greater Caribbean, experienced such extreme heat stress that it was no longer sufficiently captured by the old scale ‣ “If you look at the record, we are seeing certainly tropical cyclones forming earlier than June 1, and we’re seeing systems extending well beyond the end of November. So that, hurricane season has certainly become longer both on the front and the back” ‣ The world’s oceans absorb 90% of the excess heat and energy released by greenhouse gas emissions that are trapped in the Earth’s system and are the cause of climate change

In the new scientific theory of the natural suffocation cycle of the earth, you can easily understand the answer to the bleaching of corals and their gradual destruction. I promise you that no scientist in the world has the scientific ability to prove this. After the scientific proof, it is easy to solve it quickly and cool the seas and oceans by implementing the road map in this theory! It is necessary to explain that the main cause of the natural suffocation cycle of the earth is the same as the main cause of climate change and global warming, and this issue has nothing to do with the consumption of fossil fuels in the world. All the parameters of biological sciences and atmospheric sciences are related to each other in a crazy way, and even more crazy is to say that it is easily solved! #NewScientificTheoryOfTheEarthNaturalSuffocationCycle #BehavioralPhysicsofNaturalColloidalParticles #meteorology #atmosphere #atmospheric #earthscience #earthobservation #physics #geophysics #science #sciencecommunication #scientist #environment #environmentalscience #climatescience #dataanalytics #scienceeducation #scienceexploration #politics #physics #aerosol #atmospher #airpollution #CALIPSO #CALIOP #Pasadena #ATRAIN #EarthCare #InternationalDayofCombatingSandandDustStorms #opendata #wildfires #SDSDay #EarlyWarningsforAll #delaythegreen #globalwarming #showusthedata #geopoliticalrisk #ipccreport #politik #Copernicus #EarlyWarningsForAll #esg #podcast #climatechangeadaptation #ClimateReport #climatedenial #oceanwarming #climateaction #circulareconomy #WHO #IPCC #UNClimateChange #NOAA #Cop10 #AirPollution #Air #AirReport #NASA #environmental #globalwarming #climatecrisis #COP28 #IAEA #EPA #EPA #ipccreport #globalwarming #climatecrisis #COP26 #temperature #delaythegreen #showusthedata #ActOnClimate #wildfires #data #science #oceans #globalwarming #energy #fossilfuels #coal #diesel #fuel #subsidies #carbondioxide #fossilfuelsubsidies #news #technology #power #leadership #greentech #production #PlanetaryStewardship #Sustainability #ClimateAction #EarthShot #ExponentialChange
We’re deeply saddened by Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority's confirmation today of a mass bleaching event on our Great Barrier Reef. Aerial surveys of two thirds of the marine park show widespread coral bleaching consistent with patterns of heat stress that has built up over summer. While this is devastating news, it’s important to remember that bleached corals are not dead corals, and they can recover if ocean temperatures return to normal. We’re working to help build the resilience of our Reef, so it can better withstand the impacts of climate change into the future.
