We're hitting the roads again here in Ireland with our free workshop, Low Carbon Construction in Practice! This essential training on low-carbon construction provides 3 structured CPD points upon completion and features interactive presentations and hands-on demonstrations. With the built environment responsible for 36% of the EU's greenhouse gas emissions, this workshop explores practical ways to achieve sustainability through low-carbon materials, and meet targets set out by the RIAI and RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge. We're kicking off our first two workshops in Dublin with availability to join us at the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel and limited spaces left for the RDS. This panel is so very important. We are a long way from being doomed...however we do need serious action to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. Electrification is key - but so is every purchase you make. Are you a possiblist? Looking forward to joining Imogen Bhogal, Helen Czerski, Simon Price and Jarvis Smith FRSA on this panel to discuss what is possible.

#XPRIZE transports us to the future, in 2050 where #climatechange and populations are challenging life as we know it today. They offers us to take action now and turn #ideas into actions to tackle the problems sooner than later. I remember the days where analysts said that starting a Car company in the US and especially electric cars was a crazy ideas, that creating rockets for tourism would never work and that growing plants indoor was insane. And still, here we are with #Tesla, #BYD, #SpaceX, #BlueOrigin, #verticalfarming and way more. The tidiest job is to modify people behaviours to make massive changes. Do you remember why you know the color of the bins where you recycle? It took 40 years before it became an habit and well included in our lives. And still there is places where #recycling is not present. Our Climate is changing at an accelerating pace never seen before and we all know the consequences will be terrible for human life. We need to accelerate solutions and encourage new ideas. #carboncapture may have sounded crazy years ago and still XPRIZE released a list of 100 projects just doing this! It is time to bring our greatest minds together and get them to work together to deliver the solutions that will restore our planet and create long lasting global sustainability. We are in an Era of Collaborative Research. Initiatives are currently budding across the World where Academics and industry leaders are joining forces to shape our future. "THE DAY BEFORE SOMETHING IS TRULY A BREAKTHROUGH, IT'S A CRAZY IDEA". PETER H. DIAMANDIS "WE CANNOT SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME THINKING WE USED WHEN WE CREATED THEM". The latest edition of the Ericsson Networks newsletter has just arrived, providing an exclusive preview of the upcoming event—Critical Communications World and Ericsson's participation in it. For those unfamiliar with it, Critical Communications World stands as the premier global gathering for the mission-critical communications industry, encompassing sectors such as public safety, utilities, rail, and defense. Held in different locations around the world each year, this year's event will take place in Dubai. Ericsson will be prominently featured at the event, showcasing interactive mission-critical demonstrations and hosting influential speakers on the main stage. The newsletter also offers a glimpse into last year's event through a video showcasing the demonstrations, highlighting Ericsson's mission-critical experts, and capturing the ambiance of CCW 2023. In my opinion, mission-critical communications play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of essential services. For those interested in gaining insights into this significant industry event, I highly recommend reading the newsletter for a comprehensive overview. #TeamEricsson #missioncritical #criticalcommunications #CCW24

Predicting circuit behavior in simple circuits is pretty straightforward by applying Ohm's Law when you only have to account for it's steady state behavior. But this can be quite a different story when looking at the behavior the instant (nanoseconds after t0) a circuit is energized. This video by AlphaPhoenix is one of the best experimental demonstrations of transient electrical behavior you'll ever see:

A Hydraulic jack is way more dangerous and their potential for catastrophic failure which cannot be overstated. Many times client and consultants are not aware of the safety protocols and the outcome of any fatigue failure. As professionals, it's crucial to make them aware about the risks and ensure the essential safety protocols are being followed all times. On the other hand, regular maintenance checks, proper load limits, and the importance of monitoring hydraulic fluid integrity will reduce such failures.
The M7-M12 Integration Project started 2025 the best way we know how – safely! 🙌 🙌 After a well-earned break, the project kicked off the year with a Safe Restart Day, ensuring everyone was focused and refreshed before heading back on-site. There were demonstrations involving everything from electrical awareness and commissioning to temporary works hazard identification and noise and water testing. We even highlighted the importance of exclusion zones by showing just how powerful some of our machinery can be (while sacrificing a few watermelons!). 🍉 🍉 It was a great way to start an exciting year for the project and emphasised our unwavering commitment to safety. Thank you to all who contributed. 👏 John Holland Transurban Westlink M7 Steve Kiddle, Steven Kotevich, Andie Pitsiatari, Colin Hansen, Stefanie Nutt Tony Waters, Tim Page Alex Major #Wellbeing #growthproject #safety #M7M12Integartionproject
