We are more than our pain. In a world that is content to reduce us to one-dimensional caricatures of suffering and trauma, we can preserve a truer story. We come from beauty. Cole Arthur Riley @blackliturgies @colearthurriley #afrofuture

Flying in the face of rote/routinised patterns, already enacted in our inner potentiates, carved in our joints, 'the minute you walked in the joint' reinforced by what is on the menu 'they had it coming' 'We are fully book, but for you, I am sure we will be able to find you a table' Paradigms Lost/Found - Highway to Heaven/Hell This week we are learning more and more about how ventral interests cut their cloth-the outsized nerves of our top down assimilates, and their affinities in the cultural code, slavishly consecrating the rules of engagement as natures protectors "It seems strange in a modern age that we need them. There are multiple ways of contacting and meeting people, digitally and socially.... their number and membership application lists continue to grow. Clubs function by carving society into niches, to create a sense of belonging to something larger. Like the old guilds, many centre on professions." Trauma as frozen present suggests a whirl pool spin of induction-our willingness to initiate out of omnipresent/omnipotent take ups/downs, involving expectations of how we solve/resolve; what we veer towards and attend/tend to and towards generates/regenerates acceptance from others and avoidance from others. Its an enormous to soak up for a child/teen to work out WTF as entrepreneurial start ups, as formatted in the image of who? 'Don't be ridiculous Andrea, everybody wants this' https://lnkd.in/eyMPdH-R
Where did the belief come from, that I could and I should just 'decide' to recover from trauma, and that there was something wrong with me because I hadn't recovered? Trauma plus self-recrimination = a very tough gig. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eByTmvCg #trauma #TherapistsConnect

“When he first came in, Hudson got 20-something units of blood,” Dr. Robert Borrego said. “And 20-something units of packed cells, 20 units of plasma, and 20-something units of platelets. That’s just the first day.” May is National Trauma Awareness Month. People like Hudson, who nearly lost his life and leg in a boating accident, rely on blood donors like you to help them heal and recover from their trauma so they can have the chance at a better tomorrow. 🩵 To learn about Hudson’s journey and road to recovery, click here: https://bit.ly/3IZnfWP #NationalTraumaAwarenessMonth #traumaawareness

Person-Centered Leader with Expertise in Trauma-informed Care, Adverse Childhood Experiences, DEI, and Serving Vulnerable Populations
How do you follow a TEDxEustis talk on healing from chronic stress and trauma? I don't know about other speakers, but for me you just get back to work serving children and adults experiencing chronic stress and trauma. When approximately 1 in 4 American children experience abuse in their lifetime (National Library of Medicine, 2023) we have a problem that's just going to keep feeding itself generation after generation until we all decide it's time for change. We need to start healing ourselves, each other, and the systems that cause trauma or allow it to flourish. https://lnkd.in/eHyxAu-s
