In this article we shall explore a powerful tool that can propel the nation towards achieving those goals: The Circular Economy. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the limitations inherent in the linear economic paradigm, highlighting the necessity for a transition toward circularity. A working group of over 160 African civil society organizations, which convened ahead of the conference, produced an 18-page resolution. The group called for the establishment of an International Legally Binding instrument on Drought under the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. They stressed the need for increased sustainable financial support for the restoration of degraded lands and highlighted land tenure security as a crucial factor for successful restoration efforts.
