🎉 I just completed my first hackathon and won! 🏆 Thrilled that this happened at Bletchley Park, the birthplace of modern computing, during the National Museum of Computing Hackathon. It was great to meet and collaborate with Sam and Victorious Ezeh. Coding at Bletchley Park, surrounded by Alan Turing’s legacy, was incredible. Leading the development of this project from concept to execution was an honour. 💡 We noticed that museum visitors with visual impairments or limited English might struggle to fully engage with the exhibits. To address this issue, we created ‘exhibit.io(n)’. Our IoT project, built in just 12 hours, leverages the Particle Photon 2, FastAPI, and OpenAI services to improve accessibility. Visitors can have seamless multilingual conversations with our device about each exhibit, enabling everyone to interact with the museum inclusively. 🥇 The project received the Accessibility Award at the TNMC Hackathon this year! I am immensely grateful to The National Museum of Computing, Colleen Lavin from Particle, James Brand 🤖🏭☁️⚡️☀️ from Intelligent Industries, and everyone who made this event possible.
