While many organisations have begun measuring and managing Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) emissions, Scope 3 emissions remain a challenge for many organisations. Scope 3 emissions = emissions generated upstream and downstream within the organisation’s value chain (i.e. the steps of the product/service/process incl. material sourcing, production, consumption and end of life, disposal/recycling), and from activities that are not owned or controlled by the reporting organisation. Their weight on a corporate carbon footprint = between 65-95% Challenges organisations face = multiple, from the intensive nature of collecting and reporting data to the difficulty of estimating emissions for modelling and decision-making purposes (spend-based approach that relies on industry-average emission factors may not reflect the actual emissions), etc. We are sharing our expertise on the solutions at scale in this free webinar with CO2AI and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development - WBCSD!
