Each one brought a unique perspective and passion to their role, making a lasting impression on me.   🔧 **Sadayoshi Koyari-san: Chief Engineer Land Cruiser** Koyari-san's commitment to excellence is unparalleled. His itinerary during distributor visits is a testament to his dedication, packed with back-to-back customer visits. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟔 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞! It’s been six months since I joined the incredible team at Nissan Europe, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the journey so far. As people (and AI) often use bullet points on LinkedIn, I’ll do the same and share some personal, chaotic thoughts: - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟐 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: After working at Nissan Russia for 11 years, I found myself in the same company, seeing familiar faces and hearing the same thousands of acronyms, but not understanding a thing! Cognitive dissonance, hello-hello. - 𝐀 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: Working at the regional headquarters on regional projects gives you not just a “helicopter view,” but an “out of space” view on conditions and problems. Just when I think I understand the circumstances, dozens of new factors knock to the door. - 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬: I am so fascinated by the professionals surrounding me that I sometimes catch myself sitting with my mouth open in meetings. I hope my colleagues forgive this strange behavior one day. - 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐰: Knowing you will start a new position with less expertise and professionalism than before is one thing; experiencing it in real life is another. Yes, it’s obvious, but still worth mentioning. - 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: Our industry is truly something else (especially if you want to grow new neural connection every day)! It has it all: engineering, manufacturing, logistics, software development, big data analysis, politics, environment, and predicting and designing people’s behavior in the coming years. With all that, you need to be agile, yet the complexity sometimes makes agility almost impossible. How to balance – a big question to me. - 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧: Moving to another country within 2 years with a small child is a challenge that affects your efficiency, even if you’ve “thought this through” and have family support. Another question about balance. 💙 I want to thank my new colleagues for their constant support and guidance! P.S.: Today Nissan unveils the new Patrol, which is absolutely amazing. How much of our lives is destiny, and how much is it about seizing opportunities? One of the first major configurator projects I worked on almost 10 years ago was for the Yamaha T-Max. Looking back, I had no idea how much this project would shape my career. It wasn’t easy, though – we were buried in endless Excel sheets, trying to make sense of the complexity of configurable options. On top of that, our art director had high expectations, and let’s just say the feedback was brutally honest. Every day felt like a test of endurance and creativity. But those challenges were pivotal. After completing the T-Max configurator, I earned a reputation as “the configurator guy,” and new doors started opening – including my first job in China, and later working on one of the first real-time configurators for Mercedes-Benz. That experience always makes me wonder: how much of our lives is shaped by fate, and how much is about the choices we make when faced with challenges? If I hadn’t embraced the struggle of that initial project, would I have ended up where I am today? Maybe it was destiny, or maybe it was about showing up and pushing through, even when it got tough.
