Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center has once again received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke GoldPlus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. PBGMC also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy. In addition, PBGMC received the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award. Target: Type 2 Diabetes aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke. Treatment of Chronic Total Occlusions remain at the edge of current possibilities to revascularize patients suffering from coronary artery disease. New generations of guidewires have improved initial access substantially, lesion crossing with microcatheters and specialty balloons often remains challenging. Dr. Emmanouil (Manos) Brilakis devoted his life to educate on CTO PCI. In his recent case experience a retrograde crossing failure of the Turnpike LP and Sapphire 1.0. As next step the Micro Rx with the smallest leading edge profile was selected which created a channel whereafter the Turnpike LP crossed. Please use below link to view the case https://lnkd.in/egRHD3wy with the initial crossing issues starting around 4:30 Great to see that our new Micro Rx rapid exchange micro catheter is supporting the movement of the boundaries of PCI treatment possibilities. The primary purpose for the Micro Rx is guidewire support and channel creation in a complex none-CTO setting to improve procedural efficiency without the need of CHIPCTO procedural skills and devices.
