PLANNING APPROVED for our boutique terrace of family houses in Ealing. Whilst the typical historic typology of a terrace is uniform, the strategy includes subtle differences to the architectural elements. These include window fenestration, balustrade materiality, brick detailing to openings and tonal brick colours to the facades. The difference provides further interest to the facades and a distinct character to the scheme. The spaces between the dwellings at the upper floors give relief to the massing. The uniformity of a terrace is retained in the appearance of repeated pairs of semi-detached dwellings. The eaves line and dormers incorporating double storey windows help to alter the scale and levels within the dwellings. The part two storey extruding element to the front of the dwellings provides the opportunity to create modest first floor terraces with porch entrances below.
