An informative and successful Fire Risk Assessment carried out at the Mill Vulcain Engineering - UK today with myself and Jody Baxter with an assessor from Peninsula, as always a lot to take away from it to ensure continual improvement. The risk assessment process involves an inspection of the premises to identify potential fire hazards, to ensure adequate measures to stop fire starting and that adequate fire protection measures are in place to protect everyone in the building. #firesafety #safetyfirst #healthandsafety #fireriskassessment

Who is qualified to carry out critical fire safety procedures like Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Fire Emergency Evacuation Plans (FEEPs) in your commercial building? The law is clear: these tasks must be performed by competent professionals. This means fire engineers with the right qualifications, accreditations, and certifications from recognised industry bodies, such as: ✅ BM Trada ✅ The Institute of Fire Safety Managers ✅ The Institute of Fire Engineers These experts not only ensure compliance but also clarify the vital connection between FRAs and FEEPs—knowledge that’s essential for your building’s safety. This short blog breaks it all down for you ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eNTd2mFN #fireriskassessment #passivefireprotection #fireprotectionsystems #commercialbuildings #firesafetyregulations

I've had multiple conversation with multiple specialists in the fire industry, and the same theme crops up again and again: jobs being done by people who aren't qualified to do them. Commercial electricians installing fire alarm systems. Carpenters repairing fire doors with non-compliant hinges packed out with whatever flotsam and jetsam comes to hand. Builders signing off commercial cooker hoods for fire safety compliance when they're only smoke-compliant (and then a hotel goes up in flames). Use competent, qualified, certified, accredited people for your Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and Fire Emergency Evacuation Plan (FEEP). Not improvisation artists and jacks-of-all-trades.

Restoring confidence one facade at a time. At Clarke, Fire Safety & Risk Management is pivotal as part of our remediation and quality processes. Clarke’s Re: Mediate team specialise in remedial works within existing buildings that no longer meet government safety guidelines. We use; ✔️ BS8414 testing to evaluate the overall fire resistance of external cladding systems on high-rise buildings, ensuring they meet stringent safety standards. BS8414 testing is a large-scale test where an external cladding system is tested for its overall fire resistance rather than its individual components. ✔️ PAS 9980, which provides a comprehensive methodology for fire risk appraisal of external walls and cladding. PAS 9980 assists in informed decision-making regarding necessary remediation or mitigating measures and supports training for those conducting Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEWs). This approach enhances our fire safety strategies and ensures our projects are both safe and compliant for the Client.
