Policy compliant planning applications to “by-pass” planning committee. Unlike some commentators, I don’t think this step would ignore communities. Objections, support (some do submit letters of support!) and general comments are all balanced within a Local Planning Authorties decision; delegated or committee decision. Delegated decisions do not simply ignore these views. It is questionable what value a planning committee has if a development is policy compliant. The move seems to be a sensible and pragmatic one.
