According to research undertaken by the employee experience platform, Edenred, before deciding to leave a job, up to 42% of employees voiced their concerns to their manager, but only 30% said their situation improved as a result. And many businesses wonder why they struggle to retain and attract new employees. My advice to those stepping into a new role (and this comes from personal experience!) Slow down before you jump in. When I joined Sodexo, I was so gung-ho about making all of these changes. I want to be productive. There's nothing wrong with that sentiment, but you have to slow down and listen before you jump in. You might find (like I did) that there are specific reasons your new team hasn't implemented certain things in the past. You need to talk to the right people who have institutional knowledge before you jump to conclusions.
