The London office of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) designed the impressive 60 Holborn Viaduct, a major revitalisation project completed in 2013 in the borough of Camden. 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 We are proud that our Super Spacer® T-Spacer™ Premium was part of this landmark project.
The Holborn Viaduct, named in honour of Queen Victoria, was inaugurated by her in 1869, linking the City with the West End. The bridge's north-eastern gatehouse, destroyed during World War II, was meticulously rebuilt to its original design. 🏗️ Rising behind it is Sixty London, a nine-storey office and retail building with a dynamic curved facade that harmoniously contrasts with the surrounding Victorian architecture. The building’s organic design softens its massiveness.
döring - a vandaglas company - supplied approximately 1,000 sqm of raised and concave curved insulating glass for the roof terrace’s balustrades and the facade, featuring T-Spacer™ Premium. KPF emphasised the need for seamless glass structures for both curved and flat components and required various photometric qualities. As a result, the solar control coatings for the curved glass were meticulously determined in collaboration with Döring.
