We are less than one week away from The Montgomery Summit presented by March Capital. On March 5th and 6th, we will host 1,000+ members of our community in Santa Monica for an incredible two-day program—and we are ready!   As always, the 115+ private presenting companies will be the highlight of the program. You would have to spend months traveling the world to meet such a carefully curated and high-quality ensemble of venture, early growth, and late growth private companies. In addition to the dozens of "don't want to miss" sessions with industry leaders that I have described the past few weeks, there are a few last-minute additions to the Summit that I would like to share:   Former German Defense Minister, K.T. zu Guttenberg, and General John Allen (U.S. Marine Corps Four-Star General, Retired) will kick-off the Summit on Tuesday, March 5th with a special session on European Security & Geopolitical Threats, providing their takeaways from the Munich Security Conference last week.    I am also pleased to announce that we will be hosting Congressman Eric Swalwell (U.S. representative, California's 14th congressional district) in conversation with Ram Palaniappan (Founder & CEO, EarnIn). EarnIn provides an important financial service to workers across America and is looking for bi-partisan legislation to enable greater innovation in financial services. Join Rep. Teaming with Tariq Shaukat to cover the #genai myth-busting topic was super-fun (thanks Tariq) and hopefully interesting to the attendees, even though we ended using the entire hour in discussions and trying to answer the many questions🙂 #noSlidesWereNecessary Summarizing the discussion: Boards need to actively own and govern the topic, even more than they do on cybersecurity. This is not just a topic for high-tech companies. And although risks and challenges are aplenty, the word "opportunity" was by far the most common way that CEOs and board directors described GenAI. Encouraging! Let #responsibleai be a guiding light. People and organizational readiness is key.
