On this National Aunt and Uncle's Day, let's discuss an often-overlooked aspect of work-life balance: the role of extended family relationships in employee well-being and productivity. At GamingTables.ca, we believe that strong family bonds, including those with aunts and uncles, contribute significantly to an individual's support system, impacting their performance and satisfaction at work. Here's how fostering these relationships can benefit you: 1. Stress Reduction: Close-knit extended families provide additional emotional support, helping you better manage work-related stress. 2. Work-Life Balance: People with strong family ties are more likely to maintain a healthy work-life balance, leading to increased job satisfaction and productivity. 3. Diverse Perspectives: Interactions with aunts and uncles expose individuals to different viewpoints and experiences, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. 4. Mentorship Opportunities: Aunts and uncles often serve as informal mentors, offering career advice and life lessons that can be valuable in professional settings. 5. Social Skills Development: Regular family interactions hone communication and interpersonal skills, which are crucial in any work environment. For HR professionals and managers, acknowledging the importance of work-life balance and family connections can lead to more empathetic policies and a more supportive work culture. Consider initiatives that recognize the value of personal time and family relationships, such as: - Flexible time-off policies for family events and personal commitments - Promoting a culture that respects employees' time outside of work - Creating a welcoming environment for discussions about work-life balance At GamingTables.ca, we've seen how our products can play a dual role in both professional and personal settings. A pool or foosball table can serve as a team-building tool in the office, fostering connections among colleagues. Similarly, these tables can become the centerpiece of family gatherings at home, creating opportunities for meaningful interactions with loved ones, including extended family members like aunts and uncles. National Aunt and Uncle's Day reminds us that our employees have meaningful lives and relationships outside of work. Recognizing this is key to creating a supportive and understanding workplace culture. Interested in enhancing both your workplace culture and your employees' personal lives? Explore our range of gaming tables at GamingTables.ca and discover how shared activities can strengthen bonds both within the office and beyond! #NationalAuntAndUncleDay #GamingTables #FamilyFun #CoolRelatives #GameNight #MemoryMaker

Let’s talk about FUN at work. We work in a serious industry where life and death decisions are made daily. Burnout is real, and it can be difficult to retain top talent. How do we keep our teams engaged? Adding some FUN may be the answer. The Healthcare "She" Suite began to discuss this topic this month when celebrating National Physical Therapy Week. This team celebrates the week by encouraging therapists to participate in a week of FUN activities such as scavenger hunts, tie-dying parties, and potluck meals. They also make sure the hospital executives get to participate, encouraging the elimination of hierarchies and fostering team development. Not surprisingly, this team is highly engaged! Employees who have fun at work are happier and healthier. Additionally, these associates can better deal with challenging times as a cohesive team, something we can all appreciate in the healthcare industry. So, She Suiters, how do you have fun at work? Bonus – Teresa was part of the scavenger hunt as she was hidden in the therapy gym.

We sadly lost our Auntie Carol earlier this month. Being my granny’s best friend, she was one of those “chosen aunties", rather than being a blood relative. She was kind, fun and always laughed at her own silliness. Based on rigid workplace policies I've encountered in the past, it’s so important not to confine compassionate leave to predefined scenarios or relationships. The company I now work for acknowledges that life's challenges can vary a lot from person to person. In a world where empathy often takes a backseat to productivity, I was struck by how refreshing hyble’s approach is. It's not just about fulfilling duties; it's about genuinely caring for your team members as human beings first and foremost. Having experienced first-hand the rigidity of other “traditional” leave policies, I can't help but appreciate the freedom and understanding that hyble extends to us. It fosters an environment where individuals feel supported and valued, even during life's most challenging moments. I'm proud to be a part of a company that recognises the importance of compassion and flexibility in the workplace. Thank you, hyble for setting the standard for what it truly means to support your employees beyond just professional obligations. #hyble #Compassion #EmployeeSupport #FlexibleLeavePolicy #WorkplaceCulture

Today's been a pretty hectic one! I spent this morning with the lovely ladies of the Creative Wellbeing Circle with fellow business owners in the creative and wellbeing spaces. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the lake at Pitville park where we saw the new cygnets enjoying the water with their swan parents. We also enjoyed the calming waterfall before sitting outside the Pitville Pump rooms where we discussed the wins and challenges we were experiencing in our businesses. For me, I've been really busy with the most clients I've ever had at any one time but that in itself has been a challenge and I've had to learn to manage my time more effectively and find out how to boost my productivity. Trying to get the balance right between having enough work, earning sufficient income, spending time marketing and running my business, versus making time for myself for my own wellbeing and spending time with my family is definitely hard. I haven't figured out the perfect work/life balance yet and I'm trying to work smarter not harder as I reach full capacity in terms of my workload. I'm also working on a few ideas to help with that and take the pressure off to avoid the troughs that inevitably follow the peaks. Fingers crossed it all works out. #businesschallenges #peaksandtroughs

As the summer vacation season approaches, it’s a great moment to reflect on the importance of wellbeing and disconnecting in the workplace. During a conversation led by Joni Henrard; Sara Wouters (Care Lead) and I discussed that wellbeing isn’t just a one-time initiative, it’s embedded in the DNA of TriFinance Belgium & TriHD Belgium. How? Read the article below. Key Takeaway I had myself from the workshop of Katelijn Nijsmans from How’s Work : There are segregators and integrators. Both types of people have their own personal style of combining work and personal life. Some might like to have clear boundaries and separation between work and personal life (segregators), while others may prefer a more flexible approach (integrators) So as you prepare for your well-deserved break, remember that prioritizing your wellbeing is an ongoing journey... Wishing everyone a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation! #WellbeingAtWork #CompanyCulture #EmployeeWellbeing #VacationMode #leadership #personalleadership

As discussed previously, No Name-calling Week reminds us of the incredible power of kindness and respect. But wouldn't it be amazing if that feeling of unity and inclusivity didn't have to fade after just one week? No one likes feeling sad or hurt by mean words. So exactly in the workplace too, creating a culture of kindness and respect should be an ongoing, year-round commitment where individuals spend a significant portion of their lives. But how will it benefit you? Well, it will lead to enhanced workplace morale. ➡️ Which will result in increased productivity and creativity ➡️ Hence, there will be a reduction in workplace conflicts. ➡️ Hence, there will be improved employee retention. So, let's make every day a no-name-calling day! It's not just a week-long thing; it's a way of life. When we practise kindness every day, we make the office a happier place for everyone. And who doesn't want to live in a happy world? P.S. Stay tuned for a special surprise at the end of the month as I continue my commitment to promoting positivity and empathy. 🎁 Stay Strong! #mentalhealth #workplacewellbeing #employeemorale #productivity

What's changed for you since attending the retreat? I have seen my current employer in a different light - had to let them know that I was seeking work around my current role and they were very negative and unsupportive which frustrated me. I’m still trying but it’s an extra hurdle to jump. www.lpm.team #TeamLPM #PortfolioCareers #LPMRetreatFeedback #LPMCommunityInsights #RetreatSuccessStories #CareerTransformation #InspiringFeedback #RetreatReflections #RetreatTestimonials
