Yesterday, our Edible teams (and family + friends!) from coast-to-coast celebrated the best day of the summer – Slurpee Day! Every year on July 11 our #client7-Eleven gives away FREE small Slurpee drinks to customers at 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores nationwide. This year was extra special because the cup was designed by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals National Champion, Nolan.
We are proud to support our client 7-Eleven in bringing smiles and joy to everyone on this special day. Cheers to Slurpee Day!

Splitting Beehives! 🐝
When a beehive overwinters successfully, it must be split in spring to avoid swarming.
One method is the "walk-away split". Beekeepers split the hive into two boxes: one with the OG queen, the other queenless. The queenless hive, sensing the absence of their queen's pheromones, panics and immediately starts developing a new queen. They do this by selecting young larvae and feeding them a special diet of royal jelly, which triggers their development into queens. 🤯
If conditions are perfect, the new queen emerges in 16 days, mates, and starts laying eggs within another 15 days. 🤞
However, mating flights are weather-dependent. So, just to be safe, beekeepers return with a mated queen from a breeder within a week from 🇨🇦or🌐
Beekeepers identify the queenless box and introduce the new queen using a "slow-release" method – the new mated queen comes in a cage with a candy door that takes 3-5 days for the worker bees to chew through. This increases her acceptance.
A super strong hive can be split multiple times! You need two frames of brood (baby bee larvae), one frame of pollen, and one frame of honey. Put those in a new box with a mated queen, and you have a new hive.
A super strong hive can have up to 10 frames of brood and 10 frames of honey/pollen, allowing beekeepers to split into 3-5 new hives while keeping the OG hive alive.
Shout-out to Brigitte Legault for the Village Wellth merch! Kept the sun out of my eyes and bees out of my hair! 😆💯
