Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) not supporting Ontario Business? Why is this in Nashville and not in Ontario? This makes no sense. "WE BUILD ONTARIO" .... but our annual general meeting and conference outside of Ontario. . . outside of CANADA 🤔? Missed Opportunities by not having the AGM in Ontario: - Supporting Ontario Businesses and Venues - Chance to schedule tours to buildings actually constructed by Ontario General Contractors - Inability for people to attend because of cost and time (We actually run businesses you know). - Ontario media coverage - Ontario Colleges and Universities being highlighted. This really shows how tone-deaf associations can be. This shows that conferences and tradeshows are really just vacations that can be written off on taxes. #WeBuildOntario #OGCA #Construction #Ontario What do you think of this? Putting Thinking First | Helping leaders working for good to make a difference the quiet way | Thoughtful coaching, training & facilitation | Thinking Environment
Today's view from the training room is a lovely change: Bute Park in Cardiff. It's the final day of a Dods Training programme I've been leading with Welsh Government policymakers over the last few months. We've explored all sorts of tools and approaches, and the groups have been putting them into practice with meaningful policy challenges. I'm really looking forward to the closing presentations about what they've learned and how their thinking has evolved. #training #thinking #policymaking

📝 Case Study: Planning permission secured for Sussex and Surrey Institute of Technology (SSIoT) Our Gatwick-based planning team was appointed by Chichester College Group to secure planning permission for a brand-new education facility south of Crawley College campus. The £15 million Sussex and Surrey Institute of Technology (SSIoT) is designed to provide high-quality learning environments housing specialist construction, engineering and digital ‘learning factories’. The designs embraced renewable energy technology and water harnessing and recycling systems to reduce energy consumption and wastage. Planning partner, Suzanne Holloway collaborated with key stakeholders on the design to ensure swift approval – from our client and the architects, to the local planning authority. Having addressed water neutrality challenges to deliver an efficient and sustainable development, planning approval was achieved. Construction is already underway and the centre is due to open to students in Autumn 2025. "We are indebted to Suzanne Holloway and the team at Vail Williams for getting this vital development across the line. This new building will give us more opportunities to educate and train people to address the skills shortages in the engineering, construction and IT industries."
