Ask any amber-expert: “Is amber easy to photo?” 😊 No, it’s not. Especially when one is interested in inclusions stuck inside the amber. You should be equipped with top-class lenses: various magnifications, various working distances, various apertures, and various lighting conditions – all differ from sample to sample. Smooth wide-range zooming is either nice feature. Thus, all the amber inclusions shown below have been taken with Olympus DSX1000 digital microscope at the University of Gdańsk (thanks to dr Elżbieta Sontag and prof. Jacek Szwedo), and in the Museum of Gdańsk – Museum of Amber (thanks to Batłomiej Kentzer) #Microscopy #Research #ImagingTechnology #Olympus #EvidentScientific #Evident #Imaging #amber

#FactFriday: People who are color blind are usually only colour deficient, which means that they cannot see as many colors as people who have normal vision. People with colour vision deficiencies also mix up colors like red, green, and purple, and some colour deficiencies are different than others. There are some people who are actually color blind, and only see the world in shades of grey; this condition is very rare. Xynoikos Xynoikos represents a community of shared resources, where individuals come together to share goods, services and knowledge. This concept challenges traditional notions of ownership and scarcity, instead promoting a culture of abundance and cooperation. Stoic reflection on the concept of the commons offers a valuable perspective on the idea of “Xynoikos”. By recognizing the shared nature of resources, recognizing one's own role and responsibility within the community, and striving to live in harmony with nature, individuals can promote the common good and foster a more sustainable and harmonious relationship. with the environment. Xynoikos offers a unique philosophical framework that challenges traditional notions of ownership, scarcity and competition. By promoting cooperation, abundance and decentralization, it offers a compelling vision of a more equitable and sustainable society. However, addressing potential challenges and criticisms of Xynoikos is essential to ensure its successful implementation. The abstract and animated representation of Xynoikos also allows us to go beyond the limits of figurative representation and touch the very essence of the concept. The work invites the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of symbols and metaphors, where meaning is open to interpretation. Ultimately, the digital artwork that depicts Xynoikos is successful in capturing the complexity and diversity of this philosophical concept, creating a visual and immersive experience that invites the viewer to explore and reflect on the implications of Xynoikos in our contemporary world. 2534 x 2196 px / mp4 / 58,6 Mo / 1 min / 12 frames 1/1 collection 26/30 #FEPUM « Fix Eye Perpetual Uncontrolled Movement» a subrealist reread based on the masterpiece : An Old Woman Cooking Eggs - Diego Vélasquez - 1618 on view at : National Galleries of Scotland Minted on objkt https://lnkd.in/dAcj7PDc shared with magic fam´s 😍 Sol Fayerman Hansen Jean Minguet Arnaud RAMUS Daniel Kramer Eleanna Fulop Justine Vilgrain Patricia Gloum Yvonne Senouf Hela Mouelhi Christian 'Sumo' Pearson Christine Raibaldi Matthieu Mifsud, Phd Sylvain Levy Saeko Ehara Christopher Sicurella ∴ Carine Asscher Amelie Bourdinaud Peter Conradi Marcelin ABU Ryan Tanaka Emma Dastot Marius Campos #subrealism #treeskulltown #gif #art #CryptoArt #NFT #Museum

Roy Nachum, the mastermind behind Mercer Labs in New York, is celebrated for his groundbreaking approach to art. Through his daring artistic endeavours, Nachum delves into the exploration of human perception, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Mercer Labs, the Museum of Art and Technology, envisions a revolutionary transformation of the museum experience. One of the notable installations within the 15 room experience is "Pneumatic Transmission." This exhibit seamlessly integrates past, present, and future technologies to convey messages and data. Inspired by pneumatic tube systems of the late 19th century, originally designed for mail transportation, Pneumatic Transmission breathes new life into these systems. Utilising algorithms, the installation empowers visitors to input messages, transforming words into radiant echoes. This amalgamation of art and technology not only revitalises communication possibilities but also acts as a conduit, bridging the gap between humanity and the infinite. Interesting developments here
Glad to share our Siggraph Asia 23 work “GroomGen: A High-Quality Generative Hair Model Using Hierarchical Latent Representations”. GroomGen can generate high-fidelity hair models simply from a low-dimensional vector. It covers diverse hairstyles including the extremely curly ones. Users can do hairstyle interpolation, arithmetic, and simulation easily in the latent space. The work is an amazing collaboration between ETH Zurich and Google AR/VR.
