Community connections in the Top End 🌏 👨🎓 👩🎓 Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting David Boustead from the Northern Territory Department of the Chief Minister, and Allison Grierson, @Danielle Doughty, Dominic Upton, Robert Schwerdt and @Tim Francis from Charles Darwin University (CDU), at our multi-award-winning Jabiru Hybrid Renewable Power Station. “This is amazing engineering and a truly inspiring asset for the region. We’re excited about the opportunities for future collaboration and the positive impact we can make together," said CDU’s Director Strategy and Partnerships – Faculty of Health Allison Grierson. 🤝 At EDL, we believe in building strong relationships with the communities we serve. These visits are an essential part of ensuring that our projects not only deliver sustainable energy solutions but also create lasting benefits for the region. 🏆 🏆 In 2023 the Jabiru Hybrid Renewable Power Station won the Engineers Australia Excellence Award, Northern Division and in 2022 the operation won Solar Power Project of the Year-Australia at the Asian Power Awards. ☀ The power station supplies the town of Jabiru with 100% renewable energy during the day, with excess solar energy stored in batteries to continue renewable energy penetration into the evening. This enables the power station to deliver more than 50% renewable energy overall. #hybridrenewableenergy #solar #sustainability

Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC), a subsidiary of Global Business Power (GBP), recently extended support to the Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG) by allocating funds under Energy Regulations (ER) 1-94. The IPG utilized these funds to implement the 30KW #SolarPV and Efficiency Project for the CoViD Ward and Service Ward at Aleosan District Hospital. Furthermore, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Phase II of the 30 KW #RooftopSolar PV + Streetlights and Efficiency Project, also at Aleosan District Hospital. These initiatives were made possible through financial assistance from PEDC under the ER 1-94 program, which ensures that communities hosting power-generating facilities receive financial benefits from the electricity sales of the Generating Companies (GenCos). #PanayEnergyDevelopmentCorporation #PEDC #Philippines #GlobalBusinessPowerCorporation #GBP #IloiloProvincialGovernment #IPG #EnergyRegulations #SolarPV #EfficiencyProject #SouthEastAsia #AleosanDistrictHospital #CommunitySupport #ER194Program Read more: https://lnkd.in/d2kmK2uy

🌞 Exciting News from our Municipality! 🌿 I'm happy to share some awesome renewable news from the municipality of my city of Ra'anana regarding the commitment to sustainability and renewable energy: The municipality has recently achieved a milestone by maintaining an energy balance in municipal facilities and institutions, generating more photovoltaic energy than electric energy consumed. This significant accomplishment is a direct result of a forward-thinking decision made four years ago to install photovoltaic systems on the roofs of municipal buildings, including educational institutions. These PV systems have not only enabled to harness electricity from the sun but have also provided the municipality with financial independence. By offsetting funds with the electric company, Raanana not only reduces costs but also contributes to a more sustainable financial future. Take a look at the photo to see the municipal facilities in Ra'anana adorned with photovoltaic systems, symbolizing our commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.💚🌍 #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #MunicipalSolar #GreenInitiatives [Photo: Municipal facilities in Ra'anana with the photovoltaic systems]

Mirroring the broader Asian region’s dominance of the global floating PV (FPV) market, Rystad Energy research shows that Southeast Asia will account for 10% of the region’s total solar capacity by 2030, encompassing ground-mounted, rooftop and FPV installations. "FPVs have emerged as a game-changer for Southeast Asia, catalyzing the region’s push towards clean energy by maximizing its abundant solar resources and overcoming limited land availability. Their modular design allows for integration with existing hydropower dams and unlocks tremendous opportunities for hydropower-rich nations like Laos, Thailand and Indonesia. Additionally, with land rights a major deterrent facing solar developers in Southeast Asia, as much of the land is used for agriculture, FPVs provide a solution for the coexistence of solar farms and agriculture." says our head of Asia renewables and power research, Jun Yee Chew. https://lnkd.in/dd3Ugtjq #rystadenergy #PV #RenewableEnergy

Exciting news! TTA is thrilled to announce the successful launch of our latest project, Design Services for the Renewable Energy Solar and Storage on Efate and Tanna project (RESSET). Funded by New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (Aotearoa), this project aims to increase the use of renewable energy to help the GoV to reach its energy targets as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reliance on imported fuel, provide affordable, reliable energy access, and facilitate green growth in Vanuatu. The design Services will provide MFAT and the GoV with an informed understanding and documentation of the: · Technical design of the solar PV systems with BESS · Economic feasibility · Transaction advice for Public Private Partnership (PPP) for newly created assets · Construction procurement advice The initial system's size aims for 5MWp PV + 11.5MW/6.75MWh storage in Efate and 500kWp PV + 1MW/2MWh storage in Tanna. This project is a significant step forward for Vanuatu's renewable energy development, especially as the country aims to generate 100% grid-based electricity from renewables by 2030. We're proud to have been awarded this contract alongside esteemed partners Ingenieros Emetres SLP (Im3), Economic Consulting Associates (ECA) and Janendra Prasad. We thank MFAT and the Department of Energy for entrusting us with the assignment.
