Santa Clara County Board of Education Candidate at Lewis for Santa Clara County Board of Education 2024, FPPC# 1471387
In 1990 I gave my oath to defend the United States from enemies, both foreign and domestic, when I joined the United States Marine Corps. I thought those days were over, but nothing would be further from the truth. Today, I restate my oath to my country, county, area, teachers, parents, and students. You have my word that I will work hard to earn your confidence as a Santa Clara County Board of Education Trustee. I will do this in at least four ways: 1. Policy Impact Assessment of Federal and State policy on our county public schools. 2. Inform constituents about upcoming county policies that may include state guidance (not law) so you can be informed about how it potentially impacts the parent-teacher partnership and your district. 3. When a policy is passed, I will use every available tool to make sure you are informed. 4. I will vote, "no" on every policy that threatens fragile parent-teacher partnerships- the bedrock of student success. The students in our public schools can only flourish if you voice your concerns. I can't do it, the Board can't do it, but I can enable you to do so by providing meaningful oversight as policy is being contemplated. Let's get started. Vote Shane Lewis for Santa Clara County Board of Education Trustee Area 4

October 2, 2024 BPIAA Counterpoint | FAA - Remember Equal Opportunity Is The Law of The Land! Giving and announcing that predominantly “White” higher education programs like Oklahoma University and Tulsa Community College signals “racial preference” and “favor” which has immediately created a disadvantage and limitations on Asians, Hispanics, Indigenous Americans, Island Pacific, and African American communities from having an equal opportunity to participate in an Air Traffic Training Program that leads to a $137,000.00 professional career! The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission should investigate for obvious violations of U.S. civil rights laws! The FAAneeds to prioritize the inclusion of all Community Colleges and 4-year colleges so that an equal opportunity to offer an Air Traffic Training Program does not by design limit or exclude all minority or predominantly minority community colleges, colleges, or trade schools that serve minority communities! Equal opportunity is the law of the land! Not White favor, preference, or superiority! Another reason I’m not a fan of FAA…they openly subject all non- whites to unlawful discrimination! EEOC do your job!🇺🇸
OU, TCC become first schools to offer Air Traffic training program

Register here: https://lnkd.in/epsqZfXR With states introducing new legislations involving higher education, many institutions are scrambling to find solutions to help with compliance. Syllabus rules are often one component of this type of legislation, and Concourse Syllabus can help schools reach compliance with these requirements. Whether the state legislation is new to you, new to your state, or still on the horizon, join us in a discussion on how Concourse has helped colleges in states with existing regulations (like Texas and Florida) achieve compliance.

Minimum service levels, the trajectory of flight paths and who has the best subject knowledge - are you all caught up with the Teacher Tapp blog? Let's give you the highlights: 👉 With unions and MAT leaders speaking out against the government's proposals to introduce minimum service levels during strike action in schools, we asked for teachers thoughts. https://lnkd.in/eSyuytci 👉 We investigate the trajectory of flight paths (using data to predict what grades a student will achieve when they leave school, broken down to track progress over an entire school career). https://lnkd.in/ep_w7Hun 👉 And we discover which departments have the best subject knowledge (spoiler: the top department was très bien in their 'consistently excellent' subject knowledge!) https://lnkd.in/ecXdausY Enjoy! 😀 #education #teachertappchat #teachertappblog
