Are live streams only possible for the ‘biggest’ sports teams & rights-holders? A common misconception we hear is that only the biggest rights-holders can take advantage of live streaming experiences. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Our experience ranges from football teams across the EFL and ‘challenger’ new format sports leagues, and to the contrary, it’s often fans outside the biggest teams and sports leagues that are most underserved and crave interaction. And it’s this white space where you can arguably have the biggest impact when building genuine live community. Some advice for teams and rights-holders to maximise this opportunity: - Cost is no longer prohibitive to build live communities: Truly fan centric engaged streams can now be created for a fraction of the cost of just a few years ago. And most rights-holders we work with easily turn these into new profitable revenue lines via partner upsells. - Tailor formats for your fans: From watch-alongs to pre/post-game shows, choose what resonates with your fans. Every rights-holder is unique, so engage directly with your fans to discover what enhances their experience. Use engagement tools and analytics to make them a central part of your broadcast. - Foster genuine connection: Despite a few vocal detractors, most fans seek a sense of connection. With the right moderation, communities can self-regulate, maintaining a positive environment even during tough times. In this era of fandom, don’t make assumptions regarding what you think fans do or don’t want. Instead start surpassing expectations. #streaming #sportstech #sportsindustry
