Reflecting on Q1 with Tonisha, it's been quite the journey, to say the least. Amidst the whirlwind of opportunities – from speaking engagements to achieving our visibility goals – there's been a significant amount of transition over at SVS. We've been diligently cleaning up our systems and navigating through changes, ensuring that we're equipped for the road ahead. 💼 From the client's perspective, it's been a mixed bag. While we're grateful for the steady stream of leads and clients, there's been a noticeable shift in the sales process. Decisions seem to be taking longer, and there's a palpable sense of weariness as we step into 2024. 📈💼 But hey, that's all part of the journey, right? Despite the ups and downs, we're incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come our way and the progress we've made. We're learning and growing every day, and that's what truly matters. This is a bit of a pedantic post. The incredible success of Black Myth Wukong is definitely impressive. But this is a reminder that gross game revenues are not a simple calculation of USD price x units sold. I’m seeing lots of posts claiming $600m USD revenue from the 10m units sold ($60 x 10m). The RMB (Chinese Yuan) pricing is 268, or around $37 USD. That puts the early gross at around $350-400m, as the vast majority of sales (over 95%) are in China. Which is still super impressive, but nowhere near $600m. Net is likely between 60-65% of that (so around $225-250m). Still a huge figure, of course.
