The top thing companies are focusing on when hiring engineers right now is 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆. But it’s holding them back.  Some blue chips – won’t look at anyone without a certain level of maintenance-related qualification. Regardless of experience.  Say there’s someone with a level 2 who has 20 years of experience and good longevity in their CV. They won’t even look to interview them, even though they might be a better fit than a level 3 engineer, with less experience.  Health and safety should be paramount, but there should be exceptions made when an engineer has exceptional levels of experience. Along with a slightly lower level of qualification.  Do you agree with this? Stop measuring engineers' experience by years. I know it's convenient, especially for recruiters with little technical knowledge. But it means nothing. An engineer can do the same thing for 20 years without being good at it. Others deliver exceptional output in no time. They bring talent, curiosity, and a strong knowledge of tech fundamentals.
