So, faster-than-light travel; I've talked with a lot of people - curiosity, that kind of thing, has always driven me there. This is an example of a paper from 2002, down below. I re-sent this to a few people (those I could reach), back in 2019-2020; trying to understand more. If you've kept up with the Alcubierre drive & such developments (the White-Juday interferometer, the mild controversy about indistinct 'resolution', all that), you probably realize - much as I do - that the ever-present economic pressure of shipping & logistics will soon explode onto the interstellar map. Now, 'soon' is a relative term - could be 50 years from now, could be as little as 5 (considering the speed of developments now). I'd like you to consider - you've probably lived through major technological pivots already. Many 20-30 year-olds just barely remember a time before the cellphone. Some of us are lucky enough to remember the shift that was the internet in the late 1990s (and boy, doesn't that make one feel a bit dated). Imagine 10 years from now, if that final little engineering/mathematical spark ignites & superluminal flight (and all the relevant technologies that would spring from it - gravitic control, energy lensing & recursive production) is disovered in the next few years. Imagine reading the New York Times in 1903, a week or so before the flight of the Wright brothers - when they said it would take a million to ten million years for humanity to achieve repeatable flight. What would your business outlook be if that kind of discovery is 'a week around the corner'? How would you roll with the dramatic changes that would unfold? Do you have a vision 'in case of the impossible'? #businessplanning #futurevision #planningfortheimpossible #management #consultancy #agency #frequency #planning #CEO #COO #businessowner #smallbusiness #scale #scaling #projectmanagement #vision #humandetermination #anythingcanhappen #FTL #future #thefuture #superluminalflight #superluminal #luminaries #if_you_dont_someone_else_will

My yearly office hours have become a cherished tradition for me. I find them highly rewarding, interesting, fun and also fruitful for Qwello. And even though my life continues to get busier again this year, I still want to keep this tradition going as I can. So I will commit to do at least 10x30min this year too, starting now. My office hours are for everybody! If you are interested in talking, click the link below. Topics I can meaningfully contribute to are #engineering, #leadership, #management, #product, software & hardware development, #robotics, #selfdrivingcars and/or #electriccars and surrounding industries, #startups, #coding & #programminglanguages. I am open to network, #mentor, be mentored, exchange ideas, listen to pitches, talk with prospecting candidates (My team is hiring: https://lnkd.in/dpR-vE6h) or just catch up. I have some exceptions though: I will not talk to outsourcing or recruiting agencies, and if you want to sell me something, please tell me so before. If it is interesting, we chat, but I do reserve the option to use your slot for somebody seeking a more personal conversation. https://lnkd.in/dywqbSem

🎉 Big Celebrations Ahead! 🎉 Milestone 1: Menlo Electric S.A. 3rd Birthday 🎂 - A testament to our journey and achievements. Milestone 2: Wrapping up my initial 3 months here. Democratizing Climate Tech investing 🌍 | Investing in breakthrough climate innovations💥 | Podcast Host at Climate Insiders 🎙️
Prototypes are cute. But the real hard work is done during production. In Climate deeptech, there's 10 to 100 more work that goes into the production system than the initial design. Turning a vision into a prototype and then finally into scalable, market-ready products means that more problems were solved along the way. Space X is a prime example. The rocket production system itself was 100 times harder to make than the initial rocket design. Founders shouldn't overpromise on the production timeline. Let's be real, ramp up will take time. Do you agree? #Manufacturing #deeptech

Great short read about a true culture of innovation. Clarity in innovation is fairly rare & usually more in-line with consumer products like Apple or Nike. Here, they have a clear vision of what they aspire to be that is supported by a great hardware product dev approach of "fail fast, fail small", which means extensive learnings at a component level. I like this quote the best: "We’re willing to take big swings at things that we think are going to have big payoffs." #innovation #vision #leadership https://lnkd.in/eci_ii87

Innovative Educational Leader | Digital Pedagogy Advocate | EdTech Enthusiast | Coaching for Staff Capacity | MIE Expert | Wakelet & Kahoot! Ambassador | The Educator Hot List 2023
Exciting times ahead in 2024 as I transition to a new role with a greater focus on technology implementation and digital pedagogy coaching. 🚀 Currently diving into "Spacemaker" by Daniel Sih, and these excerpts caught my attention. 🤔 Reflecting on why technology exists, the problems it solves, and potential drawbacks is key. As I embark on this journey, I'm pausing to align our tech initiatives with deep values and school ethos. 📚 "Spacemaker" urges us to ask critical questions: - Why was this technology invented? - What problems does it solve? - What new problems might arise? Excited to approach this role with a thoughtful philosophy of technology, ensuring it aligns with our greater goals and serves our community effectively. Let's make space for intentional and meaningful tech integration! 🌐💡 #TechIntegration #NewBeginnings #EducationLeadership
