💭 My Thoughts on the New UKIPO Digital Service As many of you know, the UK Intellectual Property Office recently filed its first patent application using their new digital service. To save you a webinar, here are my notes: ● Efficient Processing: This new system aims to streamline patent applications. ● Detailed Submissions: It now requires separate uploads for descriptions, claims, abstracts, and figures – a bit more work, but it apparently boosts efficiency on their end. ● Security Checks: Filing receipts might be slightly delayed due to new security protocols. ● Enhanced Search: The upgraded patent search service now offers better title and keyword search capabilities. Overall, I’m optimistic about this upgrade. It’s clear the UKIPO has put a lot of effort into making this a robust and user-friendly system. One happy gadfly 🪰 (no, never thought I'd ever be proud to be called that 😅 ) going to Brussels next week, to help accelerate #Eurostack   As Bloomberg's Gian M. Volpicelli states: "In and around Brussels, the European Union's capital, a growing coalition of entrepeneurs, economists, thinkers, policymakers and assorted gadflies 🪰 🪰 is bandying about the term #Eurostack, to label the effort for the bloc to build its own digital infrastructure and ease its dependence on US Big Tech"   🔶 Couldn't agree more. What we need in Europe is an independent digital infrastructure #Eurostack. For me this is not so much about lamenting what 'they' do at the other side of the pond currently; rather and more importantly it is about articulating what 'we' want and make sure we get it done. What is they way we want to deal with data, AI , information in our societies👩⚕️👨🌾 🧑🚒👮👨👩👧👦 ?
